The New LO chatroom, though it lacks flash and frills, is an extremely easy efficient means of quick communication between LO members. It is actually so simple it hardly needs a real tutorial. However, here is the lowdown.

When you get to the chat site, you will need to register, by supplying a username, Password, and e-mail address. Once you enter these you will immediately be redirected to the chat room. There is only one room for chatting in, so everyone is in on the conversation. To the right is the window that lets you see who is in the chatroom. The buttons on the bottom are pretty standard: Bold, Itallic, Underline, Link, Text Color(Which everone will see). MSG, where you can PM someone from the chatroom, YAY! Smileys, just a few, X text, X out session, Sound on/off.

Well that is it in a nutshell, I hope that everyone decides to utilize this function at least once. Having a chat room will really help us all to better communicate here at LO.

Please enjoy responsibly:yes:

I've tried to use it a couple of times, but every time I get in there, no-one else is there so I just leave :P

Is there any way we can see who is in the chatroom from outside of it? Like with the old flashchat, there used to be a bar at the bottom that told you who was in there. It was really useful, cos if you could see people were in there, you knew you could go in and chat, instead of having to log in every time only to find no-one's there, and get annoyed with it.

Perhaps that's something the admins could look at including, if they decided it was a good idea.

Hmm...this is a different to the last one I went to.

So, I went to register, and it asked for my email address and password. I put in my email adress, and a new password, and it said it was invalid. I put in my LO password, and it said it was invalid. Does it want my hotmail password or something? Why the hell would it need that?

Please help {confused}

Any valid e-mail address should do. I used my Hotmail account info, and it worked for me
As for the site integration, Blackhat said he is working on it.

But does it want the password I use for my email account? Because none of the others I've tried work. Why would it possibly need the password for my personal email account?

When I registered, I entered in my LO username and the same password but used a different email address than the one I used for my LO account. I got immediate access. My guess is that the username/password for chat is completely independant from your LO username/password.

Me and Pathofskulls talked for a bit. Someone named Canew popped in and out. And the first time I logged in, I saw dr_nick22 leaving. It's lonely in here.

You can see who's in it now by looking at the forum stats at the bottom of forumhome

Thing is that people look and see nobody there, and don't log in for other people to see that they are there, its a sad cycle I'm afraid...
