View Full Version : A Suggestion

Recently I have noticed that several polls start popping up that are very old. For instance, one came up a little while ago in general discussions that is like 3 years old. Also, several polls I have seen come up months after they were started when posting wasn't allowed in them and then hang around for several more months.

I'm wondering if there is a way that polls can have a time limit such as the posting in a thread to prevent the threadnomancing that seems to be occurring. Maybe I just care to much about it, but it just seems a little dumb that a several year old thread can come back from the dead by way of a poll.

I agree this would be nice. Or possibly rather than forcing someone to set a time limit/ having a time limit forced upon them it could be set so that voting in a poll does not bump the thread to the top of the list like a post does?

Yes, good idea. I'm sick of threads with polls popping up in my User CP, and when I check, no-one new has posted. I generally end up unsubscribing from them it gets that annoying. Any way we can have some kind of reform on the way the polls work?

I think this is a very good idea:)

Edit: A great example to illustrate the point ---> http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21040&page=3

I've wondered if there is a way to require that members set a closing date for polls, or if they could all be preset to a month.
