Okay, this time I actually did a good amount of searching and nobody seems to have the same problem that I'm having. If I passed over it please forgive me and nicely tell me where to look, I've learned my lesson about not looking first, the question is just whether I can find it

So whenever I try to upload images (this has happened so far when trying to attach images to posts and trying to update my avatar) I get the following message:

Invalid File

I have tried:
1. Drastically resizing the pictures (I tried uploading a 50x50 avatar)
2. Decreasing image quality to take up less space (changed 8.3 KB to 3.3 KB)

If anyone else is having or had this problem and knows how to fix it please let me know, and sorry again if I managed to miss a previous post about this

You're ignoring the error message. It's not the size that matters, it's the file type. There's a list of supported file extensions in the attachment box. I'm guessing whatever you're trying to upload does not appear in that list.

Edit: I just tried uploading a few different image file types in this thread, and I'm getting a similar error message; "This is not a valid image file". Unless it's just you and me, something's wrong with the attachment feature itself.

All the the images that I tried to upload were .gifs, which both attachments and avatars listed as supported file types. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the first post <_<

Aye, but it doesn't really matter ;). As mentioned before, this seems to be a problem with LO itself, not your files.
