I have a big spray can of Ard Coat, I'm planning on dousing my metal Tyranid models in it to keep the paint from rubbing off. Since they're slimy freaks, I figure the gloss won't look bad or anything.

I'm wondering if it would be okay to use it on my metal Imperial Guard models also? Or, is there a less-glossy alternative? I don't know much about clearcoats.

So my question is, what's a good protective coat for models that I don't want to look all glossy?

GW make matte varnish too which costs the same which might be better for your IG.
