View Full Version : My Juggernaut! Da Mighty Camel April 18th, 2007, 21:32 Well, finally finsihed my Juggernaut for my Khador force in Warmachine. Take a peak! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The battle damage is probably what I like best about it, along with the yellow Khador-symbol with gives some contrast to the red.

Camel, camel, camel... I thought you'd read the pinned threads. Max width allowance is 600px. Resize them or leave as links. Thank you kindly - KU rp252 April 18th, 2007, 22:45 Hey Camel, long time no talk mate, how are you?
Nice model there, very well painted. I've never played Warmachine myself and after diving straight into the pictures without reading the introductory paragraph I got quite confused... "thats not a khorne juggernaught" :D. After reading the intro paragraph I now understand.
To the model, I like it alot. You have got that red armour looking really nice IMO, good change of tones and I like the way you have painted on the battle damage. My only criticism is that the layout of the battle damage looks a little too planned for my tastes (only really on thse 'loincloth-type' areas). I'm a bit picky like that though, and it doesn't detract from the model at all so don't worry about it. The paint job really does look good, well done matey:).
Great stuff, your army is going to look great on the tabletop if you paint them all like this:yes:
Cheers,
Rich. Undeadair April 19th, 2007, 00:33 Looking great! He seems a little glossy though. Did you hit it with Dullcote?
Excellent work and I dig the metallics! zuz April 19th, 2007, 04:18 Looks really nice, although the battle damage looks a little too...unnatural, as if someone had scratched the paint on purpose. Other than that, awesome model, and the yellow work is awesome! evilive138 April 19th, 2007, 08:36 Technically a well painted model, model the battle damage ruins it in my eyes.
Scratches should really only be applied to areas that would receive the most wear and tear (edges, joints), or to areas where you have modelled actual battle damage (bullet holes, dents etc.)
Although the model is painted to an exceptional standard, it really just look like someone has been throwing rocks at it. Da Mighty Camel April 19th, 2007, 10:10 Hey rp. Long time no see indeed, we gotta revive the Pirate's Haven! All's fine here, I hope same about you? Hehehe, I can see the confusion, but this forum needs more non-GW stuff. Warmachine is a great game. Lots of action and killing and all that stuff. :D

Excellent work and I dig the metallics!
Yeah, I have. Or, Vallejo matt varnish. It's really not glossy. I blame the pics. :) Thanks!
zuz & evilive_138: This is my first, "real" attempt at scratched paint-battle damage, so any comments on improvement would of course be very welcommed! Since Khador Juggernauts do the "rush forward and watch all enemy attacks bounce of you"-tactic, I wanted it to look like it had been shot up like hell with no obvious effect (game-wise, Juggies and Khador warjacks in general can take HUGE ammounts of punishment before going down). Chipped paint was the way to go IMO. :D I'm also of the opinion that things like warjacks should never be 'clean.' These things can stay in service for years, being patched up and put toghether by battle mechaniks time after time. Re-painting them isn't high on the 'to-do' list for the mechs so I think the model should look pretty scratched.
Thanks for the comments guys. | |
