Go with the CD PDF, it has the rules for the most unique troops of the Chaos Drawfs, namely the Blunderbuss, Warmachins, Centaurs and Hobgoblins. If you need to add other races, you can accesss other Greenskins with the given list and Ogres through their DoW rules.

Why wouldnt you go with the pdf? It provides rules for what IMHO is one of the strongest and most versatile lists in the game.

The only drawback to the pdf is that I have heard of some tournaments not allowing it. So that would be one reason.
Really it depends on what you like about the Chaos Dwarfs. If its the Dwarfs and machines you like then use the Dwarf army list. If its the greenskins with some Dwarfs thrown in use one of the others. If you like everything about the Chaos Dwarf army of old, use the pdf as long as you are okay with not being able to use your beloved army everywhere. Personally I dont play many tournies so I would use the pdf. It would also help to get the old army book for more background to your army if you are using the pdf. The pdf was good at updating the old army book to the new rules, but gives very little inspiration. the orriginal army book was not printed as the others of the same edition. It was put out as (the only book I know like this) White Dwarf Presents Chaos Dwarfs. This is probably because it was just a compilation of White Dwarf articles, but it would still be nice to have nonetheless. I still have my copy and I have seen them floating around eBay.
Good luck!

If you're really keen, then id say write up multiple lists using various books. Write the first using CD PDF, a second using DOW PDF, and then a third using Orcs and Goblins or Dwarfs, upto you. This way SOME form of your list will be legal anywhere.
That, and im pretty sure MOST tournys will accept the CD PDF, i think the GT did...

I'm curious about starting a new army, and Chaos Dwarves was one that I'm interested in. I see you mentioning about a pdf of the army list. Where might I find this. Is it on the GW website? If someone could help me with this, I'd appreciate it.
