View Full Version : Sabol Cases

I'm tired of my big models, such as my Lord of Change and possessed dreadnought, breaking right before a battle.

"Umm, oh sh!t, does anyone have any super glue?"

The normal sized troop model will easily fit in the Games Workshop cases, and the cases themselves are nice and sturdy. But I am not going to waste an entire case to safely transport my monolith or my land raider! So then I see the Sabol cases.

And they seem to rock! modular cases, that have pluck and fit foam, and you buy what thickness you need, be it one inch for foot soldiers or 4 inch for a land raider!

Now, I'm a semi-intelligent man, and I'm not going to drop $100 (got a lot of vehicles and big critters) for something that may . . . suck. Any feedback on this?

I've got three of them. They are indeed fantastic. Much better and more customizable than GW boxes. Room for a codex or three in each one as well. And as you pointed out, you can order whatever thickness foam you want. I have several trays that I swap out as the needs dictate.

Are these a U.S thing, I am in the U.K and I have never heard of them, but that could just be me.
What sort of size are the cases and where do you get them.

Ive got one, and its the best 60 bucks Ive spent on my armys yet. I too was tired of my stuff constinantly breaking, and every since I got this, I never had to repair anything because of transportation (just my own clutzyness). They keep the models very safe, having the case fall out of a back of a truck (while stationary...) and falling about 5 feet, nothing in side the case broke. The foam trays are customizable and eaisly removed to fit your army perfectly. Defintly A+ quality.

Go to a store on the net called The War Store and they have them for sale there. (I'm not trying to advertise them: that's where I discovered them) or just go to you friendly neighborhood search engine and search for "sabol cases" or something to that extent. I think that I will buy one next payday.

As cool as the monolith is, how do they expect us to transport it, because it doesn't really teleport to the surface of the the battle. I've tried to make it do that, but I think mine is defective! But at least my Land raider and fleet of rhinos won't get dinged around anymore. I was using a toolbox with packing bubbles, which really doesn't protect it from anything. And carrying gun cases around, especially to the GW store in the mall, really gets people nervous nowadays.

I have issues spending lots of money on cases, it just bugs the heck out of me... I'd much rather spend my money on buying some new models on ebay. I usually just use toolbox style cases, theyre cheap and as long as im not a clutz and totally drop the thing theyll be fine :D Although... I'm working my tail off painting my BT and IG armies, so if/when I get around to finishing them I'll probably invest in a nice case or two - the little guys deserve it
