how did he get away with using 2004 points in a 2000 point game, it doesnt mention it anywhere in the report he just does it.
i'll bet they did they battle and then realised that a mistake had been made in the witch hunters army total points calculation. It was just easier to amend the figures in the report, although they could've said!!!
I think that there is a rule saying you are allowed 5 points over or 5 points under in the point value of a game, at least thats what Ive heard, I dont know if that is true or not.
Tact is for people who give a damn. I'm not one of those people.
The points value of the game is the general guideline, and most lists are +/- 5pts within the limit. This is not an actual rule but rather a "common sense" issue.
Anything more that 5pts over is usually disallowed, since that might mean extra wargear or possibly even an entire extra model... In which case one should just drop it to bring the list to points.
Of course, as long as You and Your opponents agree, You can go over as much as You want... I've seen people playing with 1535 point lists in a 1500pt game.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
And to add to this, I brought up the same question during a tournament and their eyes bugged and they said never ever go above the points assigned to the battle lists, not even by one. So it's generally a case by case basis. Just ask your opponent ahead of time.
You can go any amount of points below. In the battle report when the new Brettonians had been released (Brettonians vs. Tomb Kings), the guy playing Brettonians (Adi Something) was 39 points below the limit!Originally posted by BloodAngelCaptain@Jan 7 2005, 239

Hordes of Chaos Mortals (2000pt) - 1/1/0 (Win/Lose/Draw)
Daemonhunters (1500pt) - Coming Soon
There is no specific rule about how much over the allowance you can be. So long as the opponent is happy with it, then it's ok.
I remember an article from a while back (75 issues or so) where one player that 1528, and the other 1500.
I live in your eyes
