I just got my copy of WD 314 and I was generally impressed.
The 40K section centered on the new Tau stuff and a lot of rumors have been dismissed or proven true. which is great and I can start roughly planning out how I'm going to expand my army whent eh New Codex and models do come out.
And just when I was thinking the Space Marines would be left out, they pop up in the last 25 pages, shucks. ;D
A great Aritcle on Modeling Necron Warriors to look generally cool is a nice touch as well.
I'm kinda Iffy on the Battle report thought, the Dark Eldar were winning early then the Tau made a comeback, I still have to read the report a few times, so far it seems legit, but questionable if you ask me.
An article on making cool 40K buildings is still begging to be read, but from what I see it looks a bit out of reach for the average gamer, but I bet the materials and techniques can still be used on smaller scales and such.
Haven't read the WFB or LOTR sections, but I plan to, that Dwarven gaming board looks pretty cool!
Anyone else have comments on WD 314?
Well, some cool stuff. The BR was rubbish (miss all weapons with Bs 4 weapons in the first round? Yeah right...). The DE army was kind of strange as well. A maxed out cc retinue against tau, in a frickin open-toped raider? Come on! He could have just stick a sign on the raider saying "Shoot me!!" and bang! 400pts gone before he knew what happend.
I would have liked some more info on Shadowsun as well, but hey, I guess you can't get it all  .
i predicted the BR before it even occured, of course DE was going to win the flavour-of-the-month tau  . Cause DE is so popular....

Yeah I also understood that the Tau would win. My money was on a solid for the Tau and booya, I was right...
That battle report was just a bad joke, I knew what the result would be after taking one quick look at the Dark Eldar army.
Ask not the ruleboys a question for they shall give you three answers each true and terrifying to behold
Why did they even bother with the battle report? They could have just said "Its Dark Eldar vs The New Tau this week, any guesses who will win?"after seeing the lists.Like hell they were going to let the tau lose.Sales would just plummet for the new tau.But then again, Shadowsun did die, but well all have forgotten about that whan he finnally comes out

Entertainment-wise, it was a good report. But when it comes to make it intresting and make it one of the rare ones that you actually pick up and read agian 6 months later (I still read the first Necromunda battle report ever, from magazine 197 and it is very entertaining to read), then the lists needed to be more balanced and less "Tau is the greatest ever!"-stuff.
I think that the tau and dark eldar lists were both terrible. But the dark eldar still got a little set up.
