How many non-Tau, non-LOTR players here are pissed about WD 315?
At least 2/3 of it is about Tau (to be expected, seeing as they were just released) and there is a decent portion of LOTR thrown in there, but I must have seen about 3 different things in there other than that.
There was a tiny sliver at the back about WHFB, a haphazzardly placed ad about the New Cities of Death campaign, and a mention about Iron Warriors.
I find this extremely dissapointing, as I prefer my white dwarves to contain at least some amount of variation in it's content.
I think that issiue should be Called : TAU!...and some other stuff thrown in for fun...
What do you guys think about the latest White Dwarf?
I think it is only fair, the release of a new dex is a big event, and many people who either play tau or play against tau on a regular basis simply need to know all about the new features that the tau army will get. I for one look forward to the new eldar dex special edition, as I am sure that you will/did like the extensive coverage a lot when the race you play got/gets updated.
Another thing I liked was that the WD315 was almost MARINE FREE! I hate space marines with all of my heart, and it causes me great pain to even pay for a magazine that spends most of its time glorifying that one pesky race. All they need now is to get rid of the LOTR stuff, and they are on the right track as far as I am concerned.
I think I just found my new best friend!Originally Posted by Farseer Sareld

Erhm.. what? I dislike LOTR. It is my oppinion, and I am entitled to think that way. Feel free to tell me if you disagree, but if "go home" is all you have to say, dont.Originally Posted by crucial

@Crucial- Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so 'go home' isn't very appropriate. How would you like it if you posted something about LOTR being good, and someone told you to 'bugger off' just cos they don't like it?
I don't play Tau, but honestly I thought that the issue was pretty good. I really like it when they do a big expose on the new race that's being released. It helps build tension and hype for it and gets people excited about that particular race again.
What I don't like seeing, however, is each and every chapter of marines getting the same attention. A new chapter codex does not need three White Dwarf's worth of coverage. A new Tau Codex, on the other hand, is a rare event and really deserves a big fanfare.
As for LoTR, we've had that big flame war several times in different threads so I'll leave that little hot potatoe alone.
Agreed. Just release them all in one big book dammit. Have their special rules, a bit of fluff, any unique units in their respective sections, don't waste other armies time that they could be getting much needed re-releases (*cough* Orks! *cough* Dark Eldar! *cough*)Originally Posted by H0urg1ass
I honestly think there are some codexes that needed a revamp a hell of alot more that Tau, Tau's previous codex wasn't even released that long ago!
I did like the way they did the battle report though, very easy to read, attractive format. It was totally rigged, no-one can roll that bad for shooting! (Dark Eldar guy). 4 Dark lances should do alot more than stun a hammerhead.Yeah, I know, I started one of those threads (not with intention of flame war, though) - 'Less LOTR, More Warhammer'.Originally Posted by H0urg1ass
