In an older issue of WD (#122) 3 SM legions are not listed as being controlled by Chaos directly (Alpha, Black, and Steel Warriors). Has anybody seen much on these SM legions. I know ForgeWorld makes Rhino doors and Dreadnoughts for them, but I haven't seen much written on them.
I am building Alpha and Steel Warrior Legion SM's.
1) It's Iron Warriors and 2)There's a lot in the codex and everywhere on these Legions. The info is plentiful on the GW websites. You'll have to look if you want some.
Index Astartes has pretty much all the information you could want on the Iron Warriors and Index Astartes IV has info on the Alpha and Black Legions. To sum up thier relationships with the Chaos Gods, The Iron Warriors worship the whole Chaos pantheon, but they're not a paticularly "religious" chapter, The Alpha Legion and Black Legion see Chaos more as tools to be used so they can increase thier own power. All 3 of the legions seem to venerate thier own Primarchs more then anything else.
If you don't paticularly feel like buying the books, a few questions in the 40k fluff forum could get you all the answers you need, but don't blame me if you're bombarded with more information then you wanted.

Thank you for the info. I've recently gotten back into 40K and even picked up a copy of Space Hulk to play around with. I saw the GW website and it's pretty good............
