Gents working I have been writing a tale about slayers for almost two years. It is over 100 pages and I have knocked out a few different small pieces of artwork for it. Well over at my other forum we are attempting to put together a small quarterly webzine covering some of the paint competitions and short ztories plus the typical gaming stuff.
So needless to say I was looking for some original slayer artwork and I guess I had to make it myself. So here is a character from my 100 plus page slayer story. Still very WIP but I'll see if I can get some good tips from you find ladies and gents and maybe make it a little better as I go along.
I have to clean her up, shade her, add some tattoos and other runes. I also am striving to keep the attention near her face as she is staring off before a battle in expectation of what is too come. So picture time I guess...
Remember she is supposed to be a dwarf so short and stocky.
Ok keep attention near face so you gave her some fantastic boobs, I like
Awwww no I opened my drawer and took out some old warhammer models then tried too put them back in and close the drawer but couldn't, damn the stupid black hole = free OOP models for Brettonia due too not being able too squeeze them back in my drawer >_<
Here is one version of her...
Yep she graced the covers of the 1st Edition of UNBREAKABLE... so she is done but I am not too happy with her... I should have fixed her left eye and added another axe to the right hand. I did tone down the bust a bit and gave her a different back ground. Here is the cover...
no fence but she has big toes... don't ask
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LOOK AT MY BLOG!
Rep people if they help you!!!
No offence, but the pose seems very static, and I can't help but feel that theres a bit too much focus on the fact that she's female.
It's just my opinion, but I can't help but think it would have looked better without so much attention being directed to her nipples. In the early pictures she looked 'cold', and in the final she looks like she's wearing a semi-transparent top. I just feel that a dwarf would be a bit more practical in their attire, and not so interested in titilation..

Final version was toned down to not focus on female parts. Dwarf attire is optional on the slayers. Lets see Garagrim had his nads showing and the Battle For Skull Pass set slayer is nearly the same way.
The 70-100 page story surrounding this character actually has her going into battle with the rest of slayers naked just like historical references to female celtic warriors. Review the latest King Arthur movie and you will see that the female celtic princess with the bow was very nearly naked considering how we think medievel attire should have been.
But I will concede your point... in advertisement and covers sex sales and gamers are mostly male so you figure female sex appeal sales... case in point the DE female witch in the upcoming Warhammer on Line game. lets face it a chainmail or plate bra isn't really armor...
I could post a picture from another artist with a topless female slayer done by a female artist but then people would still complain about sex appeal and such...
