I'm with Will, great composition and pencil work.
I really like the fact that it's a full drawing. I hardly ever get pass the sketch-state.
You could try to take it a step further next time by using black pens to do the deepest shading, I found it to be a very fun technique.
Good work and keep them coming.
It's going to be finished(as you can see the lower part is unfinished), and after that, I'm going to "paint" it in Photoshop. Thanks for the posts :shifty:
Sweet job man! Post it up when its painted.

When I paint it in Photoshops I put the penciling as a slight mask over a white canvas. It won't bother me. Done it before... :shifty:
Do you actually use colour? Or do you paint a greyscale and then use multiply? I haven't got a preference yet, they're both effective in their own way I find .
Heh heh, my housemate asked me to do a fantasy portrait of her this week. When I showed her the WIP last night she couldn't believe her eyes. Nice to have one's work appreciated !
I just paint as in real life. Is the most fun. And the easiest. The least complicated filters.
That said I'm trying to colour from scratch on my newer paintings, it seems a bit more authentic IMO.
