Hi just thought I would post these where they should be, they have been on the gallery forum for a long while, I am in the middle of 4 more pictures (Shadowsun, Leeman Russ, Kroot/Eldar assault and an inquisitor) I just dont get enough time to work on em and wish I had time to do lots more.
Image quality could be better, just got a scaner so I will scan them in when I get it up and running.
Any comments good or bad appreciated.
Those are fantastic... what media are you using, and how do you go about creating them?
Just curious - I really love how the style grabs your attention without the use of high contrast
I am just starting to use Coral draw with good results, scanning the pencils in and then inking (as such) on the computer.
As for creating them I take the models as inspiration and apply some imagination, I sketch the composition out using the basic human figure to get the positioning and the anatomical features correct then I go over them applying the particular style quirks of the subject I/E Marines are proportionaly bigger than humans with a head that is proportionaly a lot smaller in relation to the body than a normal human, Orks are just over developed and Tau are obviously mechanised.
I also like to try to keep the picture clean and light, I find some of the GW stuff overly dark and over fussy (not to say they arent awesome , the standards these dudes pull out consistently is inspiring), but obviously the subject matter dictates, the chaos warrior is a lot darker because he needs to be menacing, but the Tau is clean and crisp becasue it suits the theme.
thanks for the compliments, appreciated.
Very sharp details. Your work captures the quintessential essence of G.W's design for warhammer art. Great shading between models...really brings out the realism.

Very nice indeed mate.
Do you have a deviantArt account?
I am very impressed-especially with the first one :shifty:
You may carry on
