Chaplain Lo Chang stepped out of the command bunker, and into the dreary night of Ivaanis III. He could see his fellow children of Dorn perched atop towers and crouching within trenches. The defensive perimeter they had constructed was enormous, consisting of seven bunkers and many towers. Trenches criss-crossed from bunker to tower and back to another bunker. A full company of the Imperial Fists chapter where ready for what was to come. Scanning the rocky landscape, Lo Chang saw what he had expected. To the north of the perimeter, just rounding the top of a small plateau, was a force of silver armored traitors. Their ragged banners waved in the night wind, and their siege tanks rumbled forward. Lo Chang smirked, and climbed atop the command bunker.
In the loud, stern voice he commonly used while preaching, Lo Chang shouted, “Children of Dorn, the time has come. Be ready for the Iron Warriors come from the north. As soon as he had finished he leapt from the roof and gathered his command squad. He ordered his Techmarine Tyranis to give coordinates to the pair of Whirlwinds in the center of the camp. As Tyranis got on the com-link, Lo Chang turned to the Company Banner Bearer, Brother Alister. “Raise the colours, and I will give the order to open fire. Brother Alister climbed atop the command bunker and began swinging the bright yellow standard. Lo Chang’s voice rose, “Brothers, slaughter them. Let them relive the Iron Cage. As he finished the bunkers lit up, heavy bolters and lascannons sending death to the oncoming Iron Warriors. The Iron Warriors returned fire, and the battle had begun. The whirlwinds launched their payloads, and masses of the heretics fell. The Iron Warriors drew into bolter range, and the night was lit up by tracer rounds and lascannon beams. The Iron Warriors died in swathes, but from behind the hill came a thunderous noise. “Take Cover screamed Lo Chang as a earthshaker shell destroyed on of the eastern bunkers. A rumbling noise caused Lo Chang to spin around, and he was met by Tyranis, who had come up with the most feared unit in their arsenal, a land raider. The front doors of the armored behemoth swung open, and Captain Hensley strode from the belly. His yellow terminator armor gleamed in the moon-light. Hensley pointed to the pair of rhino that had followed the land raider in, and said. “Chaplain, take your best men and follow me. We go to meet the enemy. Lo Chang turned as Hensley re-embarked the armored behemoth, and went to gather his men from the command bunker.
When he re-emerged from the bunker, Lo Chang was followed by his command squad, and a veteran squad that Chapter Master Pugh had sent on this mission. Chainswords revved , and power sword gleamed in the moonlight. Once they had loaded into the two rhinos, they followed the land raider out of the camp and towards the Iron Warriors position. The transports screeched to a halt just a few meters from a squad of Iron Warriors, and the doors burst open releasing the devastating payload into the unsuspecting traitors. Lo Chang’s crozius was darting to and fro, dismembering the heretics with ease. From the Land Raider came Captain Hensley and four terminators brandishing massive thunder hammers and storm shields. The veteran squad was already deep into the heart of the army, maiming the silver armored foes. From the shadows of the Iron Warriors strode three huge armored beasts, Dreadnaughts. The veteran squad was massacred and the dreadnaughts, continued their blood frenzy through the terminators. Lo Chang watched a lascannon beam turned Captain Hensley into an empty husk, and he prepared himself for death. The hulking beasts came and with in seconds Chaplain Lo Chang was face-to-face with three dreadnaughts. He managed to sink his crozius in the power plants of one, and another he put a bullet into the armored sarcophagi, rendering both useless. Then, the third torn his waist from his torso, and left him their to die, bleeding in the grass. As the life left him, he smiled for he knew that the true purpose of this battle was fulfilled, and the Iron Warriors had slackened their defense of the fortress, where the fifth company was poised, ready to move in and defeat the traitors presence within this system.
please, give any feedback. Part 2 coming soon
By the way, the Iron warriors are BiD's guys.
Hehe, I like it. You give a good description of what's happening in the battle, well written. I especially like how the IF ride out to meet the traitors, and suddenly see 3 dreads advancing on them.
Ze titles yez...
When in doubt,
