Default Retribution

The Imperial Battleship that is. I could probably search and find similar information, but I thought I would try and spark some discussion in the BFG forum. So what do people think of it?

It's heavy long range weapons batteries combined with it's massive torpedo salvo makes it look like a good anchor for a fleet. And it fills the role of a traditional battleship nicely.

Any thoughts on what would go well in a fleet with it? The Mars seems like a good choice to add some fighter cover, other than that any other suggestions?

On a side note mine is coming in the post after a successful ebay auction and if Praxis reads this and is wondering what is happening to my Marines the auction was for it and a Strike Cruiser so I figured I could try and build two fleets so I always have an opponent.

cheers

Well done on the ebay sultansean. Its always been lame when i've checked it. Nice to see your marine fleet coming on, mines a bit swamped with escorts - 34 - and only 2 strike cruisers and 1 barge. None painted yet.

There are a mountain of different ships to choose from with an imperial fleet, makes our marines look bad, but i'm not going to collect them too until i've finished my chapters ships. Hope to be posting pics in the not too distant future.

It's an interesting ship, certainly worthy of its place in the battle line. Battleship tough, with a good broadside to boot, it's a nice, solid choice.

My only issue with it is the price - Admittedly, Chaos tends to be cheaper than the Imperial Navy in the first place, but my own Desolator battleship, and even to a somewhat lesser extent my Repulsive Grand Cruiser bring quite similar abilities to the field for a pretty significant savings!

Personally, if I were an Imperial player, I'd likely prefer an Oberon class, but mostly just for the multiple weapons systems - it's pretty much tied with the Retribution otherwise!

Retribution should be used in a fleet with 2 Dictators, a Gothic and fourth cruiser (Dominator/Lunar).
Great torpedo wall with 6+ prow.

So I really had no idea that BFG battleships were as big as they are. This thing is impressive. Figured I'd throw a pic up along with a Strike Cruiser and a Hunter Class Escort for Comparison.
