    2k Tzeentchian Beast

    Gday,

Just wanted to know what Librarium thinks of by beasts. All help appreciated. I think i've posted a similar one before, but see how I go now. Ive had one easy win, and one close loss with this list against lizardman (damn slann!)

L - Beastlord (plan to go with beastherd or tzaangors)
Mark of Tzeentch, Power Familiar, Armour of Damnation, great weapon, shield

Ok. This guy totaly sux. Sure he can cast spells, but there all pretty crap, and since he strikes last, he's dead.

H - Bray shaman (goes with beastherd)
    level 2, braystaff

    Ok. Not great but OK.

    C - 18x Beastherd - 131
8x gor (2x hand weapon), 10x ungor (spear) full command

    C - 18x Beastherd - 126
8x gor (2x hand weapon), 10x ungor (spear) Foerender, standard

18 is waaaay too small. you need at least 30 of em to be any good, since they have no armour and are weak.

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

OK for ambushing, but still weak.

    C - 5x Chaos hounds

    wow. these guys are scary.

    C - Tuskgor Chariot

    C - Tuskgor Chariot

    fine

    C - 15x Tzaangor
Mark of Tzeentch, Full command, Banner of Wrath

not bad. need at least 25 of em tho

    S - 5x Chaos knight
    Mark of Tzeentch

crap without chosen. In fact, this is the worst unit ive ever seen. What can they kill? nothing. They suck.

    R - Chaos Giant - 205

    R - Chaos Giant - 205

Easy vitory points here to any shooting at all. yet another crap choice.

All in all, a very dissapoiting army, that should be easily killed by any decent general. Try again, without dissapointing yourself next time.

See that red square in your profile where everyone else has a star? Well basically it means that you're an asshole which, given the nature of this post, appears entirely justified.

Either you stop ruining LO with posts like this or you can gtfo my internets, either is fine by me.

    Ignore the person up above

L - Beastlord (plan to go with beastherd or tzaangors)
Mark of Tzeentch, Power Familiar, Armour of Damnation, great weapon, shield
He seems fine just one thing, you might want to consider putting him into one of your chariots if you want him to be able to throw around some spells all over the place, but just a possibility to think about
H - Bray shaman (goes with beastherd)
    level 2, braystaff

    C - 18x Beastherd - 131
8x gor (2x hand weapon), 10x ungor (spear) full command

    C - 18x Beastherd - 126
8x gor (2x hand weapon), 10x ungor (spear) Foerender, standard

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

    C - 10x Beastherd (for ambushing)
5x gor (2x hand weapon) 5x ungor (spear), foerender

you might want to consider merging some of these together for stronger units. Also why 18s might want to try and get these units to 19 with a character or 20 without so they can get rank bonuses. Remember if there is room you can rank up 5 across and get rank bonus up to +2
    C - 5x Chaos hounds
cheap and expendable and nice for flank charges, yep..

    C - Tuskgor Chariot

    C - Tuskgor Chariot

    C - 15x Tzaangor
Mark of Tzeentch, Full command, Banner of Wrath

    S - 5x Chaos knight
    Mark of Tzeentch

some nice hard hitting units, chosen is too pricey for knights imo

    R - Chaos Giant - 205

    R - Chaos Giant - 205
i've never found giants to be especially effective. Although not very fluffy, DoW cannons and galloper guns make nice support for chaos as they are very lacking in ranged. If you want to stick with more fluffy options personally I'd go for a shaggoth as i find them more reliable than giants, and perhaps some dragon ogres or use the points for more beastmen

I think pookakitty hit everything on the head that needed hitting. 2 Giants... I don't like fighting giants, but that's because I don't have shooting. If you're going up against a shooty army you might consider taking 1 giant out and replacing him with some spawns and some extra ungors in your beast heards to soak up some shots.

    Thanks dudes.

Ive had some good success with giants, so Id like to keep them. I did, however go through other options, such as spawn, minotars, dragon ogres, and didnt like em as much, for the points. Plus, Giants accually give me some good options for killing monsters (dragons and the like) and heavy cav, something the Beasts can struggle with. I will need to playtest a bit more tho, so ill keep these thoughts in mind, cheers.

As for shooting, thats what the ambushers are trying to combat. Even if i have to hide the giants for 3 turns behind terrain against a super shooting army, I think ill be OK on that front.

Im surprised that no-one had objected to my tzaangors.Ive posted these before, without the banner, and people have nearly dropped dead telling me not to take em. Im assuming the banner had made the difference.

Ive changes the list slightly since the first post, changing the familiar to the staff of change, and downgrading one of the ambushing herds, but not beyond usefulness. First post is updated.

Thanks again. Pookakitty, rep for you for the first reply, which took a while. Thought LO had forasken me there :shifty:

Also, Stoney, tommyk222 is accually my brother. He likes to play funny-buggers with my lists every now and then. Although I dont condone what he's doing, I thought id at least offer an explanation. If anything, get a laugh i guess....

    Regards, Tim

Sorry, but I also had to ask about this: Why? Being in a chariot will make him a huge target, slow him down, and limit his line of sight arc. Just dont think its the best place for this guy to be. In a beastherd, all the above problems are solved. So, thoughts?

Then you had better tell him to keep your private jokes just that - private. Those kinds of posts have no place on this forum
