Im interested in starting a beastmen army and need the help of some veteran players. I have not yet purchased the book as i want some feedback before i commit myself. So here is the army ive come up with, i havent included points cost or magic items (they will come later). I would like some advice as to whether this would be both a balanced, fun army to play and able to compete in tourneys.

Beastlord - thinking mabye crown of command
(Will go in bestigors )

Lv4 Great bray shaman - lore of beasts, mabye 4+ ward item

Gorebull - BSB, silver scale armour, great weapon
(will go in one of the minotour units where needed)

Lv2 Bray shaman - lore of the wild

24 Gors - full command, additional hand weapons
24 Gors - full command, additional hand weapons
(these are my mage bunkers)

2 units of ambushing gors about 15 strong
(is command nessesary)

6 ungor raiders
6 ungor raiders

5 chaos hounds
5 chaos hounds

Tuskgor chariot
Tuskgor chariot

20 to 25 Bestigors - full command, (flaming banner?)

4 Minotours - additional hand weapons (is command nesessary?)
4 Minotours - additional hand weapons (is command nesessary?)

a monster of some sort (which one is the best?)

I would like it to add up to around 2500pts. Any advice on my unit or character choices is welcome.

The basic strategy for the army is to have the minotours and the bestigors up front as the main assault, screened by hounds. The gors and wizards would follow up behind, buffing my hitty units and looking for flank charges. The skirmishers and ambushers would harrass flanks and war machines. Is this a viable strategy.
i would like to know if this army would work before commiting myself to buying models.
