As im relatively new to the beastmen style of play me and a mate was wondering what you thought of our list we made. As i said above any suggestions to this list would be extremely appreciated.
For my lords we made:
Doombull, sword of swift slaying, ramhorn helm, gnarled hide talisman of preservation, heavy armour 353
This guy has a 1+ AS, a 4+ WS, with ASF and finaly gets +1 attack for each AS he passes.
My 2nd lord is:
Beastlord, tuskgor chariot, shield, glittering scales, dawn stone, sword of striking and finaly uncanny senses 318
This guy has a 1+ re-roll at +1 to hit whilst the enemy is at -1; also he is at +1 initiative aswell.
We fully understand this is alot of points on lords but as im relatively new to beastmen i thought this would be a good option.
My 4 hero choices are:
Gorebull, BSB, enchanted shield, beserker sword, heavy armour 223
Gorebull, steel claws, heavy armour 203
One thing im concerned about is that his AS isnt as good as my other ones so far so suggestions to possibly improve this would be appreciated.
Lvl2 shaman, dispel scroll 135
Higher level scroll caddy
Lvl2 shaman 110
20 gors, full command 165
20 gors, full command 165
10 centigors, banner, musician and ghorros warhoof 426
Extremely expensive core choice but as i feel beastmen core isnt the best i thought that this would be a safe option to go with
9 minotaurs, full command, shields, BK has everbleed 606
This unit would have my DB and both GB's in and would go 6*2 on the tray.
However im not so sure about everbleed as it is expensive for a little bit of luck
Finally in my army:
Nice hard hitting unit alongside my minotaurs with my beastlord in the opposite side of the minotaur unit to allow them to cutdown further than 6".
Thanks for reading this list and we hope to hear from you soon for criticisms and advice.
To be blunt, this list has a couple of issues that don't look major on paper, but they are in practice.
1. I worry about your magic. 2 L2 is bearable for 2000 or so, but at 3000 everyone and their dog is bringing a L4. You're putting yourself behind the 8-ball in magic, and we're a potentially dominant army in that phase, if you throw in the Shard of the Herdstone. No good reason for going light in that category. Also not a fan of a Beastlord on a chariot that has no Ward save - that's pretty much the definition of cannon-bait, and if you lose him you lose a lot of Leadership-related benefits.
2. Way too few Gors in those blocks - at that size, they're either there to ambush or to die, and Gors are mighty expensive for throw-away units. You'll need to either consolidate them into one, or ditch Ghorros and his boys - cavalry at a 4+ armor save is unlikely to be all that effective, anyway. Our troops can actually be very formidable, but they require character support, which is why you'll see that most lists will have a Lords and Heroes investment similar to yours.
3. The Ghorgon is overpriced and underpowered - if you want fire magnets, Razorgors will do the job for a fifth of the price. You can also use those points to bring a LOT more troops.
4. The Minobus is not a very forgiving style of play. I would have recommended a more infantry-heavy list to start out, but if that's what you want to play, bear in mind that it's a bit tough to get used to. Put the Blackened Plate on your Bloodkine - that way, you can hose flaming attacks (which includes some artillery). You could also use some chariots, Harpies, and/or Razorgors to provide the Swiftstride Minotaurs need if they hope to ever chase anything down.

Sorry I havent replied straight away and also thanks for the advice; as soon as the opportunity arruses I will make these changes but as my club has closed down I cant realy find anywhere to play regularly so as soon as I can I will try this improved list.
That's tough. Good luck finding a new store!
