heeeeeeeeeeeeey everyone.. First post, so here we go. My army is sort of divided into 2 parts, the first is the all beast, undivided. The second, is mortal chaos, led by a dragon ogre shagoth, all with the mark of khorne... I'm working on some fluff as to how these 2 forces would get together and join, but for now, here's the list :p
Beasts of Chaos-2000pts
GW, Chaos Armour, War Horn, *mounted in chariot*
Braystaff, level 2 upgrade
Staff of Dakoth, Level 2 upgrade
12 gors/8 ungors
5 gors/5 ungors
5 gors/5 ungors
*these 2 units will ambush, or protect flanks*
2 Tuskgor Chariots
*general mounted in one*
20 Chaos Warriors
Shields, full command, mark of khorne
6 Knights of Chaos
Standard, Champion, Mark of Khorne
Dragon Ogre Shaagoth
Mark of Khorne, Great Weapon
Well there you have it... The CW's form the centre, flanked by chariots, on one side will be the knights, on the other will be the beastheard. The Dragon Ogre will go where things need to die, and the ambushing units will disrupt plans, and hopefully gain some flank/rear charges.
Tell me what you think
Hmm... I always add up army lists in Army Builder real quick to check if they're legal and for points. And I can't get your list anywhere near 2,000 without upgrading both the knights and the warriors to chosen, but you didn't indicate whether they were or not. Also, your shaggoth can't be given the mark of Khorne because he's not a shaggoth champion. If he was, he would take up your only lord choice at 2,000 points, and so your beast lord would have to be downgraded to a wargor. This is actually a good thing, as then he won't go charging into the front of units that he can't beat all by himself. Also, throw light armor on him, a 3+ save and a great weapon is great.
In the future, I would look into replacing those warriors with Khorngors. They're faster, and so can keep up with the herds. And they might not have that great of a save, but they can dish out the punishment as well as the warriors, but for a smaller price. And then you won't have to worry too much about the fluff as to why so many mortals would join beasts. The only problem with this is that two regiment boxes plus command comes out to $105, plus shipping or tax. But the models are amazing, and they perform great with a beastlord.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. Welcome to Librarium!
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
in the army book it states that up 2 half of the beast herds may be setup in ambush, u only have 3 herds as i can see and as so you can only have one beast herd in ambush as opposed to your 2 herds in ambush
It actually says half of your units with the ambush rule. The general and 2 bray shaman have the ambush rule as well so there are 6 total units with the ambush rule so three can be set up in ambush, or 2 and a character.
@silent storm. Yeah man, I just didn't have the sheet in front of me atm, its at my friends house, i'll get the exact points for the stuff in a couple days. About the khorngors, that is what I originally had (a unit of 20-25), but I felt that charging cav or chariots could easily kill them with only a 5+ armour save.... Also becuase of the money I didn't want to spend a lot on troops that would fail me 50% of the time... Of course against infantry they should perform very well correct? Putting a beastlord in the unit is actually a great idea, but I probably wont do that, becuase I would have to give him the mark of khorne then, and then the entire army would be changed drasticallly (would have to get rid of sorceres) I want it to be an undivided army with a little Khorne. It's really a choice of getting the Khorngors or the Chaos Warroirs.... I would prefer the Khorngors in terms of fluff and just how they look, but to be honest I think the CW's would perform better overall, as well as the benefits of money.
Good points on the Shaagoth, I will change that ASAP
Based on the thoughts and insight coming in over the next couple days i will post a revised list once I get my book and list back :p
Thank you very much for the help
Hi im a vet beast player and i just thought you might want to change your list to be based more on beasts than mortals. Its khornate and i find very, very nasty. Enjoy! if someone can pick some holes in it i wont mind either.

Chaos Giant, Hungry Bob=205pts
Good army dude, it looks pretty good as it is, I think the best thing for you to do is play a few games against your regular opponents and that will give you a decent idea of what to tweak and which units you need/don't need.Only do this if you want to and if you've got some cool ideas. You don't have to justify yourself to anyone when you want to mix a few Hordes and Beasts units in your Chaos army!Originally Posted by Robertokious
Couple of points though:I'm not sure about the having your general mounted in a chariot. Doing this can easily leave him isolated from the rest of the army. Plus he's a great big cannonball magnet sitting in a chariot. He'd be far better off leading a Beast herd or better, a Bestigor herd.BeastLord
GW, Chaos Armour, War Horn, *mounted in chariot*Unless the Shaggoth has been upgraded to a Lord (which in a 2000pt army led by a Beastlord, he quite clearly hasn't) he cannot be given any Marks of Chaos. The Mark of Khorne will have to go. Besides, are you nuts? Giving the Mark of Khorne to a Shaggoth is madness, with a model that costs the price a Shaggoth does, you need to keep full control over where he goes and when.Dragon Ogre Shaagoth
Mark of Khorne, Great Weapon
You can't have a 300+ point model charging things it can't handle. And trust me when I tell you that the Shaggoth is far from invincible. A frontal charge against a half decent unit of heavy infantry that pass their Terror test can spell disaster for the great beast.
By the way, nice army Beast_lord_of_khorne. It's pretty well rounded and looks ready for anything. The only thing I disagree with is the Giant. Cheap for a monster, but it's cheap for good reason (ie. it's unpredictable, nigh on uncontrollable and highly likely to be brought down by any half decent shooting). Other than that, good choices (though you don't really need to tell us that Tuskgor have hooves and warhounds have teeth and claws )

"Peace, through superior firepower."
I find that the giant gets in combat by turn three as he waits awhile for some chariots and herds to get nice and close so they can shoot whats right infront of them or shoot at the giant all the way on the other flank or some khorngor and minotaurs frothing at the mouth breathing down there necks as the minotaurs have 16 str6 ws4 attacks and khorngor 5 str6 from the lord and 11 str6 from the khorngor and i might just enjoy having the giant for the sheer hell of it as he's cool =-)
