I have an tournament coming up and my army list contains:
Beast Lord of Khorne
Slaughters Blade ,Horn of the Great Hunt, Armour of Damnation.
BrayShaman 2nd Level
Power Stone Staff of Darkoth
Bray shamna 2nd level
Khorneogors 24 and including full command
Minotaurs of Khorne 3 great weapons
Beast Herd 2* 8 Gors and 10 Ungors including full command
Beast Herd 2* 8 Gors and 10 Ungors including Musicain and Forender
Centigors 6 insluding musican
War hounds 2 * 5
After this I can not decide on the unpredictable , manuverable , stuburn giant which causes fear or 3 Dragon Ogres which are fast , reliable , and cause fear.
Hi Paul Whalen, welcome to LO!
I've deleted the duplicate thread, and moved this one to the army lists forum, where it more properly belongs, since you are really asking questions about a specific list.
I'd say you should go for the giant, the stubborn (and Terror) seem like they would add a lot. If you are planning to ambush anyway, the giant gets stuck in combat with stuff, and then you ambush and flank units attacking it.
My two cents, hope it helps!
Arena of Death Champion: Nexim of the Guldskullz Tribe. Fear my wrath!
Giants are terrific for a lot of things. The only thing I really fear with my Treeman is a giant since that blasted thump with club attack ignores armor saves. Giants are great against other large targets or just ogre-sized models. Brutal, really.
looking at the rest of your list id go for a giant too- the unpredictability of them is great fun! plus if your lucky they can destroy almost anything else your enemies will have
saying that though i do like Dragon Ogres, they add a lot of punch- although as you already have Minotaurs they probably arent necessary
PLAN CLAN MAN!!
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man- S. Johnson
One word: stubborn - my second favourite rule in the whole of WHFB after unbreakable. Apart from bashing a lot of stuff to pieces I think his stubborn rule can be used to great effect by holding up units etc.
Thanks very much gentalmen for your input ,I have played warhammer for 10 years now and have only played against a few giants and never with one. My plan is to rush, rush, rush with 2 ambushing herds and the rest of the army . From the giant I was expecting it to escort my Beastigors and or get other units locked into combat so that they can be surrounded and squashed . By the way it is a great conversion of a Albion giant with nid arms and a Blood thirster head.
P.S. I find those Treeman very much a Pain in the #$%%^
