for low points games id suggest keeping your characters cheap

Wargor with GW ang heavy armour, chaos armour if you must

Also, if you are using lore of beasts, then the bears anger is an amazing spell, so two level one shamans will be better than one level two imo. also more antimagic.

For the Herd, drop the banner. they are a support unit, if they get run down the enemy gats 100vps for the banner. also id add a couple more gors and double the number of ungors in the unit.

Add a champ to the khorngors. im assuming they are going with the wargor 3x5? these guys can dish out some good damage, loook at running them 2x6 instead.

add a champ to the knights.

add a 4th minotaur, so much more effective in units of 4.
id drop the furies to get all the points for the above stuff

I definately second this. However 2 level 1 shamans are probably too many characters for a 1000 points army, unless you really want to be a casting force. I'd consider 1 lvl 1 with 2 dispel scrolls and a braystaff.

For the Herd, drop the banner. they are a support unit, if they get run down the enemy gats 100vps for the banner. also id add a couple more gors and double the number of ungors in the unit.
I agree with dropping the banner, although if you intend to ambush, a small unit is fine. Remember that herds are still skirmishers, and as such, don't negate rank bonus. So if you are using them for static CR, you WILL need numbers to get ranks of your own.

I'd steer clear of extra champions unless you need them for leadership or challenges, the extra attack is generally not worth the points, IMO. I'd keep the furies, war machines need dealing with. I'd also try and work a few units of hounds in there somewhere, you can never get enough IMO.

    Cheers!

    Changed my configuration

What about a configuration more like this? Better or worse? I added a Chaos Champ, added a few to the herd, and nixed the bray-shaman but got a lot more casting power. This is being played in a campaign where I will end up with a few 1000 pt armies, so it will have more support from elsewhere; just kind of looking at this as a hard hitting magic unit.

General - Wargor (deployed in Tzaangors)
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Great Weap
    Chaos Armor
    Dispell Scroll

    Tzaangors x13
    Mus, Std

    Beast Herd (ambush)
    7 gors/8 ungors
    Foe-render, mus
    Extra Hand Weap

    Chaos Knights x5
    Chosen, Mark of Tzeentch
    Full Command

    Minotaurs x3
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Great Weaps

    Chaos Furies x5

Looks decent, but I'd try and get some hound screens in there somewhere, you are pretty vulnerable to shooting as is.

The blasted standard is pretty excellent, you might consider grabbing it now depending on whether the campaign rules will let you add it later or not.
