Hi i am making a fast themed Slaanesh army - i am thinking of using a giant (not very fast) but i wanted to open it up to this forum for recommendations on what Beast units i could use that are fast
currently i am using:
1. knights of slaanesh
3. mtd daemonettes
3 char on steed of slaanesh
4 sorcs on barded chaos steed
(5 chariot) yeah, i know.... not very fast
What stuff can i use from BOC armybook that are fast and will fit into Slaanesh theme?
The main ones would be centigor. Their Bacchanalian nature (they're drunk :drinking fits with Slaanesh's excess, and they're also pretty nippy.
Satyrs (Beast herds) are fairly mobile and suit Slaanesh, too .
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
I have to agree with rork here, Centigor are probably your best bet.
Herds, although only movement 5, are skirmishers, which makes them pretty fast when it comes to actually positioning them etc.
Dragon Ogres? Although not able to be marked, putting them in a Slanneshi army creates dsome fantastic conversion oppertunities. They are expensive, but still pretty quick and amazingly hard. Low T lets them down a little though.
Slightly slower, but you could always throw in some Minotaurs.
How about some ambushing herds? Turn two, you are behind them.
Armies: Dark Eldar, Ogre Kingdoms, Beasts of Chaos, Orcs & Goblins, Warriors of Chaos
Past Armies: Dwarfs, Mortal Chaos, Imperial Guard, Space Marine
Thanks for the ideas - i definitely like the idea of the centigors (i will convert some WE horses to have marauder torsos i think). I will look into the ideas you all gave about the other creatures too. Thanks.
i would say the good old beastherd because if they popped up behind your enemy, he now has two worrisome things
...do i turn around to fight the goat men... and get charged from behind....
....or do i stay where i am and get charged in the front by knights and then in behind with the beatsmen
the only thing is that they may not ambush where you want them to....very bed feeling...but that may even turn into a good thing
such an unpredictable unit is well suited for s slaanesh army
