My next army is going to be a Doom Bull army but I am unsure I will mark it. I have two that I am pretty sure I will NOT be using. I don't like Slanesh because you don't really get anything from it. I also am turning away from Nurgle mostly because I don't feel like painting green and don't want to convert that way.
That leaves me with 3 marks. Undivided looks good as panic checks are a problem but Khorne looks really nice too. I like the idea of 15 attacks from a unit of 3 Mino's with Xtra hw's. I would imagine that the paint scheme for Khorne and undivided would be roughly the same and painted models of one could pass for the other as long as I go all or nothing for marks.
The third and the one that I am leaning towards is Tzeentch. Odviously the down side to this is Doombull is a lvl2 mage. I would ballance this with either different combos of marked Wargors or Shamans. I would have about 15 casting dice with 4 lvl 2 caters and with the marked units and 8 spells to choose from. That would leave me with a minimum of 5 spells to cast with three dice. I may be able to cast more spells if I roll well for spell selection.
Any thoughts are apreciated.
Well if you dont want Nurgle.. then Khorne it should be! Imho at least. Minotaurs are cheap enough (for big monsters) so you can have enough of them for frenzy not to be a pain. If one unit gets distracted by charging off in a random direction then you should generally have enough good backups, especially with Herds and Centigor holding the flanks and Terrain. Dont forget about the Spawns either.
Cool. thanks for the advice and I will test Khorne out first before I paint it up. From a looks point of view Doombulls certainly fit a Khorne looking theme. from a playing point of view a unit of 3 Mino's with x-tra Hw's cranking out 15 attacks is reall nice. I will have to invest in some warhounds to help controll baiting in fleeing but your right that I should have enough units to manage 1 or 2 going the wrong way. Right now I have 3-4 with xtra hw's and 3-4 with Gw's. Then I plan on using some of my OK models as Chaos Ogres with HW sheilds sort as frenzy controll/take a charge. I see the vlaue of spawns but as I don't yet own any I will use a pair of giants.
