Hey everyone, I'm new here and to Beasts of Chaos. I played Ogres and High Elves and want to do a Horde army. Do you think Beasts of Chaos could be a Horde army? Also there is this big army set like over 200 $ should I get that instead of getting little box here and there?
Also is having lots of Herds to make it into a horde army a smart or poor idea?
Thanks (sorry for all the questions)
Beasts can work great as a Horde army, with Beast herds being some of the best Skirmishers around. I would say be careful for now though, with new BoC, hence new models etc, on the horizon.
Pure herd armies can work, but for best results, probably best backed up by a few other units, notable Minotaurs and Chariots.
ok, the one thing I don't get is how the Herd works that much. I know how ambush works and such but with 12 Gors and 8 Ungors how do you work that out?
Also do you think 3 Herds is too much in a small point battle? Also are Shamans worth it, I like the magic phase and such but I've been hearing bad things .
Keep ambush herds small, 5/5 +FR.
Depends what you mean by ''small pts''. If you want a horde army, id say 2 herds per 500pts should be about right.
Lore of Beasts is pretty good, if only for its no.1 spell. Cast that on a Shaman and enemy Character will struggle to survive, on a Wargor even better
Now our Chariots are Tzeentch markable, i think magic heavy with just 2 shamen (at 2K) can be possible, include SoDarkoth for an extra spell.
