I've been considering buying a Beast Herd to use as Marauders in my Warriors of Chaos army, but I need to know: do they come with 20mm bases or 25mm? I've got no problem buying some 25mm bases if they come with 20mm, but I'm wondering if I'd be able to use them when the new Beasts book comes out. If they use 25mm bases, that'd be awesome!
They come with 25mm bases. Nice idea Also the models probable wont be updated with the next beasts book.
Just wondering...what's the best weapon setup for Gors? Because I would be using them as Marauders with shields and light armour. Are Gors in the position that shields on them are next to useless because they have no additional armour? There's also the possibility that their weapon and armour options will change in the next book.
It actually seems like there's quite a bit of crossover between Beasts and Warriors. I mean, if I use Beast Herds as Marauders, along with some Warhounds and Dragon Ogres, I'll already have a good portion of my army complete! I could then start using Beast Herds as Bloodletters, and Warhounds as Flesh Hounds and I've got a Daemon army too! Maybe that's going overboard though...
It is a bit annoying that GW seem unable to come up with a significant difference between WoC and BoC. Given the BoC rumours, the only real difference is Ranked Warriors and Skirmishing Beast Herds.... Still, 2 armies in 1, some people see that as a plus lol
On the bright side, you'll be able to emulate the crossover of the Chaos armies of 6th edition! I think if anyone asks why the hell my Marauders are all goats, I'll have to explain that "They have succumbed to their animalistic lusts as devotees of Slaanesh" or something like that. I hope they keep the Ambush rule in the next Beast book, but take out the Unruly...rule. Despite the fact that they'll be sharing basically half of their units with Warriors, I think they'll play quite differently due to the tactical flexibility that Beast Herds and Ambushing allow.
