I brought 2 ghorgons and a doombull yesterday against a relatively light comp-friend VC list. Let's just say he baited my 1 ghorgon with some fell bats on turn 1. I don't think my ghorgon missed any combats after that, he ended with 7 bonus attacks for a nice healthy 14 attacks. He helped kill, well pretty much killed by himself, 3 fellbats, a vargulf, 15 zombies, 25 skeletons with a lvl2, a necro and corpse cart in a ghoul unit and would have had himself a second skeleton unit if we didn't call it a game.
At one point I had 2 ghorgons and my doombull in the same fight against 25 skeletons, I won combat by 22. That was fun. What was more fun was his 6 wraiths charging my lone doombull and me letting him get off dance on them so they can reroll hits against me. He wounded me 6 times and I saved 4 of them (TBH I was slightly scared before that armor roll) and ended up doing 10 wounds back to the wraiths. He honestly had nothing to stop my frenzied big boys.
T be fair his dreadlance/redfury lord picked apart my left flank. I got a charge in on his black knights flank and killed every black knight, counting combat res. Over the next several rounds he murdered my razorgot chariot with shaman, my gorbull bsb with regen and 7 poison dogs which made 2 razorgors panic and 3 other ungor units panic. I just couldn't stop that guy. Probably my doombull could have killed him, but they never met.
At one point I had 5 ungors with bows move to shoot his flying BSB (he flies the bsb around with the wraiths and the book to dance them wherever he wants to). Only my musician had range, I need 7s to hit(long range, move, skirmisher). I rolled a 6 then a 5 to hit him and a 6 to wound him and he failed his heavy armor. Next turn his last magic die was used to try and heal that wound back and for the fun of it I scrolled it saying my ungors weren't done with him yet. Sure enough, 5 shots, needed 7s to hit, roll 2 6s and then 1 4 to hit him once and then a 5 to wound and he failed his armor save. I like to think that last shot was also from my musician. Later in the game they fled off the board, but that's because they were only paid to kill 1 vampire, which they did.
Now I need to go model a vamp head on my ungor musician's model.
I would think ghorgons would rock against VC because they have no shooting. I'd becareful around skinks though. the one time I played him, I had him run up a flank outside of cannon shot. He made a unit of Pistoliers, a cannon crew, a unit of handgunners with character and another unit run due to failed terror/panic tests. My pumbagors took on an archlector did 6 wounds to the popemobile, he only saved 1 of them and lost his archlectore early which really helped.

Hmmm. The Ghorgon I might actually take (one at most), considering I'm already interested in Beastmen. Could be downright hilarious if he ends up eating your opponent's general...or his BSB...or both! ^_^
Minotaur and Ghorgon seem to have designed the smash Undead to pieces, which is great! Can't wait to run my block of Minos into some zombies and get all those bonus attacks...
Nice one Pinkus
I'm using the Cygor at the moment, but seeing all these threaths about the ghorgon and jabberslyth, makes me want to try those too. However, I only use 1 and never twins. So taking a single ghorgon might be a bit risky, without having another to make up for it.
Yea ghorgons are pretty cool and as a VC and a Beastmen player it was fun. I went down to my local game shop and played a 2k battle against a Beastmen player who i know to be a power piece kind of guy. My Lord had Infin hatred, and Red Fury equipped with Dreadlance. I suckered his Gon with bats then nailed it with lord, dropped it first turn. Then my lord basically started terrorizing his units. His second Gon i baited into the corner of the board and it managed to get 3 stacks of raised zombies. I have little clue what VC player you were playing to build up 7 stacks, but he obviously had little idea what to do against that thing. I ended game losing almost nothing, was really fun.
I had a slight advantage since i play Beastmen as my 2nd army, but i warn you, abuse the new model before more people like me realize its weakness. No saves!!!!, and zombie wall stalls, i cant tell VC players how nice it is to have a wizard on Hellsteed with Scepter raising zombie screens. 1 or 100 stacks, if its killing 0 VP zombies, its 275 pts of rage
Good Luck and have fun!

You act like its so easy to do what you did. He was trying to raise zombies in front of it, but I'm not dumb enough to let him. It doesn't take anyone any time to realize that its a big piece of crap monster that costs 275 points. Its just us beast players doing the best we can with the crap they gave us. And let me remind you his list was very comp friendly. The game could have gone the opposite for you if he would have just kept throwing 33 point raider units in front of your lord. I bring quite a bit of those and its not hard to make them be a pain in your ass.
Oh i completly agree with you, but you are forgetting this most important key point i made during my battle
I play VC and Beastmen, i know both codexs inside and out and can very easily beat them both with each other.
I did not mean to sound cocky or like a prick, Grats on your win and 7 stacks, u surpassed my bloodgreed record by 4 lol.
Good Luck and have fun!

Yeah I might have over reacted. The VC player got 3rd in battle points with the exact same list last weekend at a 20+ person 3 game tournament.
Now you see my best bloodgreed was 7 but it was against high elves but thats coz people in my store can never be arsed to turn count properly so we were on like turn 9 or 10 by end game, i know i have gone past turn 15 once *mentality*
tho i had a pretty good tally against skaven (5 i think) until his grey seer got my big guy with a whither(-1 Tgh) and i chared his bell unit, the rat ogre kept me from winning more than 2 rounds of combat
Fantasy : Empire, Chaos Warriors, Chaos Daemons, Vampire Counts, Beastmen, High Elves, Lizardmen( but i have opinions on every army just not the money)
40k: Black Templars, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar, Tau (thinking of Eldar)
