As soon as I finished my Skaven army, I started looking at other armies to play, and came to the decision of playing Beastmen.
I haven't got any models yet, and I was just wondering what is a good start to the army? I was thinking of starting with a Battalion and Doombull, then I would increase my Bestigor unit to 20 and maybe make my Gor unit a horde.
Please post some advice for me as to what I should buy and what kind of army to have to play against:
Thanks in advance,
I love the Gor horde! In addition to the 20 Bestigors I would get 10 or 20 more Ungor. Minotaurs are awesome as well.
Dark Elves and Dwarves bring a lot of shooting. I would bring the Challice of Dark Rain and/or Pelt of the Shadowgate. I usually take the banner of swiftness as well to make sure I get into combat ASAP. I am new to the Beastmen as well, but so far I have had a few victories, usually courtesy of the Minotaurs. I can't sell them enough.
Lore of beast (sig spell) and Lore of shadows are your best friends.
chalice is amazing.
Always ambush warmachines w/ 1 group of unbows. more if you can.
chariots, use in joint efforts w/ your 'tar pits' or elites working on people.
Always use Gors w/ AHW. they are pretty worthless otherwise.
ALWAYS HAVE A BSB. ALWAYS.
primal fury is what makes your army.
Dwarves, you want to give them far too many targets so they can't shoot them all. Always outflank them and hit on their sides w/ elite. (i'm 10-0 vs dwarves). Chalice of dark rain is amazing. pelt of shadowglave is good too, but pricey.
Miasma on dwarven gunlines. lower BS to 1. Huzzah.
big blocks. Prey on the dwarves low I, prey on the Elves (all kinds) low T.
good luck and happy hunting.
