Points:1998 Models:96 PD:3 DD:3
Only played one game with it sofar,i was using a doombull army before. It massacred a lotheran seagaurd list, but then again it didnt help him that i made about 2/3's on my 6 up saves the enire game from his bolt throwers rapid firing at minotaurs and arrows at ungors. So tell me what you think!
You should go for the doom bull, you want that higher leadership.
a six monitaur squad is enough IMO.
plus i dont really like the centigors, getting drunk doesnt help and they dont have a decent save, swap them (amd the points from the 2 monitaurs) and chariots and bigger beastgors units. Yo want one of your Wargors with a B Standard.
good luck ^_^
My only greif with the doombull is that for 180 points you get the same stats as an oldblood but no magic options other than a weapon. That really does it in. Sure he has higher LD but his survival rate is crap unless you give him the slaughterers blade, and even then its a bit iffy. And of course he dies to cannons like theres no tommorow, even if that never happened to me when i used him. Also,i cant ambush with the doombull.
The minotaurs are in groups of four for hitty power. I mean, looking over the list its pretty obvious they are the only true hard hitters, and with every other unit either on the flanks using cover(centigors) or skirmishing they become easy targets. And 2 minotaurs in combat simply isnt that impressive, trust me.
The battle standard bearer is soemthing i wanted to add in. Only problem is if he runs thats another 100 victory points for the enemy, and then he cant use a great weapon.
Centigors are great! i dont know how i would get along without them. On the charge they hit with the same power as chaos knights. Sure, they dont have great armour, but neither does equally priced fast cav. You dont use them to barrel down into the enemy. Often i have them hide in woods until a good oppertunity arises. They have never failed me in a single game. One game they rear charged a 30 strong unit of clanrats w/ greyseer, broke them and ran them down. Another they flank charged a unit of daemonettes and held them up for the entire game. Countless other games i have used them to flee from charges and counter with my minotaurs, which is great if your up against enemy cavalry. In a recent game, they took down an 8 man squad of black knights over 2 turns. Their randomness isnt too much of a factor with me,its never really done anything too bad except a few times when they got frenzied and charged into the enemy before i wanted them to. Pretty good for a mere 200 or so points
I could make the beast units bigger, but the main ones are 24 strong including the characters i put in them. The other ones are used for ambushing,so they shouldnt be very big, more throwaway units.
i meant to make a with the 2 units of minotaur a unit of 6(dropping 2 ) and get the points for a chariot.
Hmm, looks like a fairly balanced list. I have to agree with you, abbadon. You must keep those centigores. Besides, the posibility of them getting frenzied isn't such a bad thing sometimes after all.
He is the forsaken. An error found in the world, and its weight resting on the shoulders of one being. Know must he walk in shadow, the dark rose.
Exactly, frenzy is going to help me as many times as it will hinder me. In fact its major disadvantage is gone since your opponent cant lead them around with small units. The minotaurs really dont cut it in units of 3. They are the hammers of the army, and need to be protected. I can take 5 wounds from shooting before my combat effectivness is hurt with 4 of them,as opposed to 3. Not to mention if they get charged by cavalry. I normally dont take such large high cost per model units but ive found its well worth it to have the 4th one there against almost any foe.
i collect an army of beasts with the mark of tzeentch, you seem to no more about specific units for specific objectives, have you got any advice as i sometimes dont no what to add to battle against certain armies. please look at my 2k list and give me any tips on what to change and which items from the armouries you think would benifit me.
brilliant list appears to be perfec in my opinion against most fantsay armies and tactics
i am not a spammer, i merely post replies irrelevant to the topic
there are three things that a beatsman loves to do, fight, drink and "a-hem" the sheep at the local empire settlements
i guess most things die from cannon ball impacts... but hey, that's the chance you take with huge gribblies.Originally posted by Abbadon@Nov 15 2004, 03:47

cool list. i personally reckon you should keep the centigors, they do rock, but yeah, drop two minotaurs for a chariots, it's gonna give you the kills you will need with the lower rank bonuses
Yeah, this is excellent! TY Angel of Rust!
Graktoof the vile, victor of 1000 battles, partial credit to 1000 more, and sore loser about the other 8000...
This list is actually 85 points short of 2k! Im reposting a new version based on some advice given here.
