What do you prefer a monster army or a beast army?
Any responses would be helpfull.
Kill one man you're a Murderer.
Kill ten you're a Monster.
Kill a hundered you're a Hero.
Kill a thousand you're a Conqueror.
I agree with Araith for the most part. Gors (of any kind) are not only sweet models, but very effective in-game if you know how to use them. I also think monsters have their place in a beast army, and it's rare that I don't take a squad of minotaurs, and my shaggoth is a common sight in my list.
But when it comes down to it, your basic beast herd is one of the best core infantry unit in the game. Skirmishers with ranks and ambush, what? 7/4 points a model? Huh... that's a steal.
The problem with monsters (of any kind) is that they don't have ranks. They can't normally be assured victory by just plowing into the front of a full unit, they need a flank for that. If you do charge them into the front, you're relying on doing a lot of wounds to win combat, which even for monsters can be a problem.
Effective monster lists do exist, but it's just the normal beast is just as, or more effective than them.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
