I equip him with the Great Fang and some form of magic armour (usually armour of damnation or chaos armour), the Horn of the Great Hunt if hes is the general and sometimes the Dark heart.

The Great Fang is great, and is always worth taking against knight-heavy armies, like Bretonnians. My preference is either the Blade of Blood or the Slaughterer's Blade, so that he's just that much harder to kill. So I usually try something like this-

    Blade of Blood
Pelt of the Dark Young/Heavy Armor or Crimson Armor of Dargan
    Enchanted Shield
Crown of Horns or Gaze of the Gods

    or

    Slaughterer's Blade
    Armor of Damnation
Crown of Horns or Gaze of the Gods
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.

Before deciding what to give your Beastlord (or indeed any character), I would strongly suggest you think about who you're going to be fighting against (not possible in tournaments I know). When fighting Dwarfs or Bretonnians for example, you'll need armour penetrating weapons. If fighting Elves, Goblins or Skaven, you'll need more attacks rather than extra strength. If you're against Blood Dragon Vampires, then you'll need something to help your characters survive challenges against vampires.

Course, it's also great if you can find the points to fit in some of your favourite items too!

I always take Armour of Damation, Crown of horns and a Great weapon, unless playing Tzeentch he gets Staff of Dakoth.

Well the army is going to just something i take every, includeing tournies, i'm thinking GW as this gives me the str to penertrate armour Horn of the great hunt, i think ambushing is amazingly helpful and tactical even if your herds dont come out where you want them, your opponents going to be worried until you blow the horn, and armour of damnation for abit of defs, and a shield for the option of a 2+ save, what do you think?
