I'm quite new to the new rules of WHFB. I still have my Beastman army and just a Shaggoth and few other nice things. Since the Ld of Beastman ain't that great I was wondering what you guys think of a Shggoth of Nurgle as General in a 2000 point army. Worth it or not?
The army consists of 2 beast herds, 1 unit of Pestigors, Chaoshounds, Centigors, 2 Heros, 1 Shaman, of course a unit of 4 Dragonorgres... Just love those :-) and a Charriot...
Any input is appreciated.
you might wanna give the shaggoth mark of Slaanesh so he can alwaysstrike first with great wepons.
well, it's supposed to be a Nurgle-army...
What I wanted to know is, is it worth to take such an expensive large creature as general? will he be shot down by warmachines? I know this depends on the army I play against, but do you guys have any experience with this?
i know this is going to sound so stupid its funny but it might work
okay my stupid idea is that you screen for the shaggoth there is only one thing that can screen for a shaggoth and that is a gaint i know its weird but that is the only way i would take it as my general. so there
You have the right to post anything. everthing you post can and will be misinterpretated and used against you
If I stop listening to you it just means the voices in my head are more interesting
"Kill! Maim! Burn! Kill! Maim! Burn!Kill! Maim! Burn!"
Kharn of the world Eaters
Well maybey you should consider Slaanesh although im a big fan of khorne Slaanesh is the most ballanced mark because with nurgle your units cause fear but half the time your enemies will be immune to psycology lol.Nurgle isnt bad though extra wounds r coolI'm a noob also lol no experience
Well for some reason I like Papa Nurgle. Always played Nurgle armys. Already in good ol' Man o' War my Chaos fleet consisted mainly of Plaguecrushers...
Sure the Mark of Slaanesh is nice, but to take it just to get always strike first ain't my thing. But in theory: Is it possibile to give your general another Mark than anyone else?
Well it is possible to give other units marks like beast herds I think(im not to sure)But you can give minotaurs and heroes marks too.But nurgle is good.
It's always fun to have a monstrous general, so if you want to try it, feel free. Just don't get too upset if it backfires badly! Personally, I wouldn't bother doing this against an army that has artillery (Empire, Dwarfs, Elves, DoW, etc), your general might as well paint a huge target on his forehead and dance about in front of the enemy guns until they kill him!Originally Posted by LionElJonson
Otherwise, give it a go. Also bear in mind though that Beastmen rely heavily on the leadership of their general and heroes. If the general is charging off at 14" a turn towards the enemy, the rest of the beastmen army will get left behind and have to make do with their own leadership until they catch up.Only if your General is Undivided. If he is, then other troops and characters in your army can have whatever marks you like. With the only exception being that if another character other than the general is included with a different mark, there must also be a unit with the same mark (it sort of represents that character's warband, but he doesn't have to join it during the game).Originally Posted by LionElJonson
If you general is anything other than Undivided, then other troops and characters in the army, must all have the same mark (if they're allowed to take marks of course, Marauders are the same whichever army they're in!)Unfortunately, beast herds cannot be given marks, they are an 'unmarked' unit, like Marauders. The only things in the Beasts book that can have marks are characters, Tuskgor Chariots, Minotaurs (but their mark must be the same as the generals) and Bestigors (but only one unit per army can be marked). There's nothing else (I think...) from the Beasts book that is permitted marks. If you want more marks, you'll need to recruit some mortal units!Originally Posted by Champion of Slaanesh
