I just got a beast herd and I was wondering should I give them 2 hand weapons for the gors or 1 hand and 1 shield and for the ungors a shield or no shield.
mine are two hand weapons, and the ungors are just spears.
This is because when getting shot the gors dont get hit anyways and a 5+ save in hand to hand is going to become 6+ so its worthless.
furthermore having two atttacks per gor in front and ungor spears in the second rank is a whole lot of attacks.
I say go for two hand weapons, the armour bonus that the shield provides will quickly be negated by high str. The shooting that will most proparbly do this is better stopped with the ungors.
Plus the two hand weapons will dish out a lot of attacks.
Now that I got my core set up I was wondering what to give my Miniators, great weapon or 2 hand weapons? At first I thought the great weapon but them people at my store said that the other attack would help. Now I am just confused...
Great weapons are ummm... great...
But they do strike last.
I'm not sure what to give them actually.
I think I would go for the two hand weapons, just to have a lot of attacks coming.
That could be a way to do it...
Rather I would say use whatever armoured gors you have to shield the more expencive units you have.
But you try whatever you feel like... it is you army...
Great weapons do not attack last if you get the charge
