Hi there.. Im gonna build up a 2000-2250 pts BoC-horde..
Its undivided, but i would like a unit of horrors in my army.. im thinking of about 10 models. im gonna use the uncontrollable mutation, so numbers arent so important.. could such unit work in the army?
also.. if i have these horrors, i would like a wargor with MoT.. i know that a character with MoT cant join units with MoCU.. but since the beastherd dont have a mark, can he join them then?
also.. i would be delighted if you could write how you use your horrors..
The Tzeentchian character could join any unmarked Beast/Spec/Rare unit, so it's allowed to join your Herds.
In fact, it can join a Herd even if it contained another character with a different Mark (Yes, even a Nutglite ^^)
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
I wouldn't bother taking Horrors, they are rubbish daemons and a unit of 10 will achieve even less than a unit of 16. If you read the description of the spell, then apply it to the type of troops and situations that the horrors will face, you'll probably realise that it really won't work very well. Add that to the fact that it's only got a power of 5 to start with and will probably be reduced to a power of 4 or 3 as the Horrors take casualties from shooting and close combat. And at a power of 3 or 4, it only takes one dispel dice to have a decent chance of dispelling it!Originally Posted by And
For the cost of one 10 strong unit of Horrors, you can buy two decently sized Beast herds (or one huge herd)! Which will almost certainly be much more reliable and effective than one tiny daemon unit.
"Peace, through superior firepower."
As sad as it is, I agree...
Horrors got the short end of the stick in this edition, being the weakest daemon unit and still not actually being a magical threat. The only time they're good, it seems, is in daemonic legions.
