Im new to the forums and would like to say that im quite interested in beasts of chaos. I have played Lord of the rings SBG for quite a while and would like a new chalange. Any hints or tips for a new army would be appreciated.
Beasts of chaos have two generel strenghts: Speed and combat
Units you definatly want:
Khorngors (the deadliest infantry in the game)
Minotaurs (one of the best support units)
Beast herds (cheap skirmishers who still do well in combat)
Tuskgor chariot (cost effective chariot)
Units to consider:
Chaos Giant (stubborn with leadership 10!)
Spawns of chaos (unbreakable, "tie up" monster, pretty cheap)
Warhounds (perfect sacrifice)
Dragon Ogres (as fast as cavalry with amazing hit power and good defence, but very expensive - proberbly too expensive!)
Chaos Ogres (better defence and worse offence compared to minotaurs)
Units to leave out:
Centigors (Like cavalry without an armour save!)
Chaos Trolls (needs babysitters, too expensive to pull their weight)
Dragon Ogre Shaggoth (Not very cost effective!)
thanks i will take onboard, you gota really love those centigore models though!
using gors and glade rider horses, i think you can make pretty centigos for cheaper, with more expession then the metal. 50 dollar for just 5 models against 5.5-6 for the plastic version? Ok , you lose the chaotic effect from the beast with claws a bit.
i'm going to try t make the plastic ones. Maybe i'll post some pictures of it, but i must admit, i'm pretty new at converting.
it's not unheard of. there are some players who allready did it;
thanks i may truy that:yes:
im thinking of getting beasts of chaos too but I also really like the dwarfs.
help me decide please
Ok, when I started I did a bit of research. I ended up buy'n a bunch of Beast Heards. The best way to field them, for the most part, is 8 gors and 12 ungors. The boxes come with 12 gors and 8 ungors I bought 2 wargors and 2 shammies, that worked well enough. Bought a box of Bestigors. I like'm but as far as one of the best inf in the game... idk. That's personal pref. Minotaurs bought 4, one was a standard, used him a couple times not worth to points to me. Chaos Trolls... freak'n love'm. Wish I had bought some in the beginning. Spawns, love'm love'm love'm. They tie up enemy units while you get ready to unleash flanky death on them. Warhounds are next near to a must for my army. Centigors I think of them as a 60/20/20 unit, 60% of the time they are good, 20% they do alright, 20% of the time I should have brought something else.
But these are my opinions. My play style could drastically vary from yours. Heck you could field a monster army only made up of Minotaurs, Chariots, Trolls, Ogres, Dragon Ogres, Giants, and just smash right into combat and do well... I've been thinking of assembling such an army :-P
Are centigors really that bad, they seem speedy and powerful.
