Im almost certain Ill be buying a new BEasts of Chaos army. My last army was wood elves and I relied a lot on range attacks so I want to try something different. I know Beastmen dont have any range attacks but do they compensate it with other things? And are they a challenging army to beat if the right strategy is used?
Any help appreciated
Beasts of chaos can be a challenging army to beat if used right, like many other armies. however there are many other armies out there which pose more of a challenge to opponants.
You are correct in that they have no ranged capability whatsoever, but they will still play quite similar to wood evles. They have plenty of compensation for not being able to shoot though.
Do no use herds as your main attack force, they cant take damage too well. they are there to play a support role, flanking and CR etc.
Your kills and hard hitters are in the form of the bigger guys, bestigors, minotaurs,, dragon ogres etc. These can punch through most enemy units.
Ive heard that you can join and army of beastmen with a hordes of chaos army. how does that work??
And are the Beasts any good against an army of Lizardmen
Well, basically you combine the hoards and beasts of chaos books. In the two, there are 3 specific types of units, beast, mortal and deamon, as well as special and rare.
The easiest way to do it is first of all choose your general, which in your case im assuming is a beasts general.
From there, make the list as normal, using whatever units you like from either book. However, apart from other characters, which just take up character slots, deamon and mortal units will count as special choices, not core.
Sorry about the same thread being repeated 3 times. (Computer went haywire).
OK, thanks again Deceiver
and do the beastmen have any good magic?
Using the lore of beasts, yes. The basic spell, the bears anger, is awesome on your characters. Even a Bray Shaman can be a powerful foe in combat. The rallying spell is useful too, as beasts have low Leadership. And the rest can have their moments. Anything else you need? PM me if you like, happy to help.
