I think a strong flying unit like the hounds of khorne would do fantastic imo, but less overpowering of course ;p | |

Ok guys, i have a request for you: What i would like from each of you is an army list (or two, or more...). If you don't have my army book, PM me with your email address and you shall receive. Those who do have it, there have likely been some changes since, so please request that i re-send it to you. If you could create one or more lists, points limit of your choice, then you will get rep in return ![]() I want to see units and army as a whole you would build if you were collecting beastmen, using my book. This should be a good way for me to gain indirect feedback on units (if noone takes a CentiLord, why not? etc). Also i want to see what magic items you would want to take in an ''all comers'' list etc (this doesnt mean you have to take any, build the list for yourself, if, like me, you wouldnt normally use then dont feel any pressure to include them) Hopefully the above two lines wont influence your decisions in army building, but i feel i needed to include them forn info purposes etc. Anyway, get list making, and I hope you have fun!

O, ive got a bit of free time today so im going to write up a list! Hopefully others will follow as per my request lol.Id just like to note one thing, a change i intended to make but forgot before sending put the book to people. The Staff of Darkoth target has been changed from "any beast unit" to "Beast Herd, Bestigor, Warhound, Minotaur or Centigor Unit" Also, another edit that i have just considered, although it could use some opinions: The Champion of a Centigor unit may select different weapons to the rest of his unit. Thoughts? List will be on its way soon!

stratovarion kindly pointed out that i had referenced "warhounds", rather than "beasthounds" (to which i made them name change in my book). Two such errors have been found and corrected so far: - Under the Beasthound entry, the subnote * saying they dont count towards core limit - For those who have the most recent version, under the "staff of Darkoth" magic item description. Thanks again Strato! Rep has been given

Thank you. Army list has been written. I wont post it here because it can be found in the battle reports section where I put it up against my standard High Elf list. Here it is - its got diagrams and everything. A few things that I thought: Option for Huntgors to have great weapons would be good (like Dark Elf Shades can). A few times I found myself wanting to use them in combat but not feeling like they could really do anything. Maybe an option for 2 points to replace Bows or 3 to have both? Furygors could be Core but not counting towards minimum core just like the Chaos Furies in the DoC book. They really cant deal with combat at all and are basically just there to be annoying like war/beasthounds which have this rule. I think that the Bestigors can be quite overpowered for Core. For 16 points you get 2+ Armour in combat, with 2 strength 4 attacks at WS 5 and T4. Even Warriors of Chaos aren't that good. I agree that they should be able to have this hard hitting unit but maybe consider making them a Special choice if they take Chaos armour. Thats all for now. |

Ill take a read of the battle report in a sec, but youve raised some very interesting points, for which i thank you ![]() Breaking them down: The idea behind Huntgors that i was going for is the whole "quietly hiding in the trees killing silently from above" thing. I did consider giving them some kind of weapon option, as well as a Musician, but neither felt right, to me atleast. The are a little pricey as they are the only unit that gives Beasts some ranged offence, and hence they are intended to be specialist in their role. Furygors as "core" is an interesting point to raise. I'll look into it. The above also helps the potential to move Bestigor to special, which as you pointed out, they are very very good for a Core unit. This will however mean that those wishing to build a Beast Army with a solid combat theme in mind will be hampered, as their special slots are taken up by Bestigor AND Minotaurs. Still, something for me to think about. Maybe just decreasing their power again as a Core unit possibly? Ofcourse, as usual, all other opinions and thoughts on these, and other, issues are very welcome! ![]() Thanks again Strato!
