So I've been reading a few of the Black Library books recently, the quality of them leaves me a little puzzled. Now I know that the worlds of Warhammer and 40k are very much defined realities that the writers have to stick to, but I get the feeling that with some of the books it's very much a case of "we need a book on this by March, can you do it?"

On Friday I did something that I've been wanting to do for a while, held a large, 5 player Magic game. Myself and 4 friends played a variant of "star", instead of using a deck made of the 5 magic colours we each used a deck consisting of the 3 colours from each of the 5 shards of alara sets.

As a quick update I managed to get a fair amount of painting done recently, still haven't finished all the stuff I'm doing for other people but it's getting there. Slowly.

Hopefully by the end of December I'll have the majority of my infantry done, with the eye to doing the heavy weapons in the new year. Then it's pretty much tanks all the way (barring my steel legion, ...

Well, life is a little less hectic right now than it has been, so balancing everything has become a little easier. I started a new role in my job this week which now means I'll be working nights 4 times a week. This frees up another few nights for painting and the like. So here's what's going on with my various projects at the moment:
Elf mage- in progress, about half done, still some white on the robes to be done and detail.
Secret santa- skin done, basecoated. Nothing else yet. ...

Well, mostly non-GW. Here's the only GW bit for those who've been following my blog in any way. my duel miniature has finally been started, 2 days before the deadline! I don't know whether or not I'll finish it on time, what I do now though is that I won't be seeing my friend til next week sometime so I can give it to her then!
