Is This the Goat Head I Ordered?

Posted August 15th, 2008 at 23:16 by Cyric the Mad (Cyric's Mad Mad Blog)

Sometimes it's because I'm just cool, and sometimes it's because I know where to find the answer. Either way, we got a package of something work this week (transistors or silicon wafers or something), and the box had a label that just confuses and amuses me. I'm taking...

I had the privilege of attending the Scottish Festival & Highland Games this weekend in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I haven't been to a Highland Games since I went to the one in Estes Park about eight years ago, and had almost forgotten how much fun these things are.

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, I offer the following link. In addition to watching people throw around trees, introducing myself to several irish wolfhounds and their owners (while trying to figure out

DISCLAIMER: If you are from Montana, or have some affinity for Montana, read with caution. My impressions are just that, and in no way reflect poorly on anybody save the specific people mentioned.

Ever onward, we entered Montana with the goal of clearing the entire state before stopping for the night. At the time, this was a decision of a practical nature, but by the time it came down to it, I was glad to have put this state behind me.

Kerouac Never Drove A U-Haul

While my mother - who is as much a Shakespeare and Genealogy dork as I am a Warhammer dork - has what seems like 4 libraries worth of books and shelves to keep them in, moving her stuff from Seattle back to Colorado wasn't too bad. The activity was actually kind of refreshing, considering that my job and my hobbies tend to keep me sitting on my ass a lot.

When I drover her stuff out to the Jet City 3 years ago, we drove through Wyoming, Utah, and Oregon for most of the trip (gorgeous

Is Wayne Brady Gonna Have To...

This past week I flew out to Seattle to pack up a U-Haul full of my mother's possessions, and then drive said U-Haul back to Colorado (wait, didn't I just drive all of this stuff from Colorado to Seattle a few years ago? Oh yeah, I did).

Going to Seattle is usually a good time. I have two brothers who live in Seattle, and who are different enough as to prevent them from having any kind of relationship at all. My oldest brother (by 7 years), Steve, works for Wizards of the Coast in
