Nerd News (Red Ring Day +11)
Alright dudes, time for another blog. But as you may have noticed, I'm out of gorgeously painted miniatures to show you guys, so I thought I'd give you a little bit bit of nerd news and other such ramblings.
40K Movie?!?!
So, first up - for the first time, GW seems to actually be producing a real 40K Movie. That's right, it may actually be happening. Here's the official link -
A Warhammer 40,000 Movie | Ultramarines The Movie

Upside: The 40K Universe has great potential to become a wonderful part of cinema history, there's a lot of great fluff.
Downside; Ultramarines the movie? Yikes dude. GW just can't get in touch with reality it seems. No one really cares about the boys in blue, and looks at the News section, completely barebones. It says the movie will be straight to DVD (never a good sign) and it'll be seventy minutes long, not even a feature length film.
And wonder over to production company's site, almost nothing there. They worked on Bionicle, that's it.
Final Verdict: I'll definitely rent this movie (slash illegally download) but I doubt it'll be worth the money honestly, just too many clues (in my eyes at least) that point to this being a flop. However, it is exciting that a movie is being considered, and I hope that it won't spurn GW from making more if it doesn't do too well. And hey, maybe I'll be pleasently surprised. (Did a quick search on Youtube and didn't see any trailers or teasers, but maybe soon? I'll try and keep and eye of this for you guys) Anyway, thoughts anyone? Going to the midnight release at Walmart? Leave a comment (hint hint). As a last side note, I did want to mention that I think that the best story to use for a 40K movie would be Storm of Iron, by Graham McNeil - best 40K Novel out there, no joke.
And next up...
Halo: Reach (Halo 4)

For those of you who are into the Halo series (much like myself) then you'll be pleased to see this -
YouTube - Halo Reach Trailer - HD Version - E3 Teaser
This is a teaser trailer for the new Halo game currently in the works. For those of you really into the Halo fluff, this has the potential to be more epic than Halo ever was. For those looking for a little orientation, Reach was the last human stronghold that was destroyed by the Covenant just before the events in Halo (1). It is also the location where the remaining Spartans were killed for the most part. Basically, this is a tragedy, we just finally get to see more about how it happened. (This is just my knowledge, there are some clues that they might be changing the fluff a bit, somewhat to my dismay). So, definitely could be awesome, and, if we're lucky, maybe we'll a squad based shooter like I've been dreaming of for the Spartans.
Upside: Fantastic potential for fluff and for gameplay
Downside: Bungie might be pulling a GW and reworking fluff that didn't exist before, and it'll cost money....
Final Verdict: Yes, please! Christmas list like whoa.
Ok, last but not least -
Starcraft II - Video #4

Everybody should know that Starcraft II is well on the way, but I did want to post a link out to the latest video which I'm told brings some old favorites like Templar and Psionic Storms (sorry Zerg players) - As a disclaimer I've not watched this yet, let me know if it is broken or something.
StarCraft II Battle Report #4 in High Definition ? G4tv.com
So, that's all for today I suppose (sometimes it's nice to waste time during class I guess). If you've got something to say you should post a comment then share my blog with twenty of your friends and family (each). I'm paticularly excited for the next incarnation of Halo - Starcraft too, but hopefully I won't have to wait too long for that one.
For next time I'm considering drafting up an article, something about basic basing, maybe putting down some of my army lists, stuff like that. Who knows? (For anyone looking for a touch of 40K news, I do believe I saw a blurb on the GW web page that Tyranids are slated either the next release or for Janurary of next year, I'll try and hunt that link down for next time)
