[Hobby] Primed and ready!

Been a little while since my last update, life has been a little hectic the last few weeks. Decided I didn't really need a break this summer, and signed up for another 3 credits... all English, all 6 weeks long. Needless to say, time has been at a premium lately, but it'll all be worth it in the end.
That said, just a minor update for today, hopefully I'll be getting the ball rolling again soon. I've been priming miniatures over the last few weeks, and have the bulk of my 1000 point list done at this point. I still have three Rhino's and my Lord to prep, but the remaining models are primed and ready to go.
I took the lapse in hobby time to test a few new primers, and have settled on using a grey Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Primer. I have always been a big advocate of GW's Chaos Black primer, simply because I was used to it and liked the results. I have found the finish provided by Krylon's Indoor/Outdoor primer to be much smoother than that of GW's line, spraying much more evenly and giving me a much better overall basecoat. Despite my predominantly metallic colour scheme I've been happy with the results on my test model so far. I was a little worried about switching to a grey primer from a black, but overall it hasn't seemed to cause much of an impact. For ~$6 a can it's been a fantastic find; I've primed roughly 40 Marines and 4 Vehicles so far, and should be able to prime my remaining models before I need to splurge on a new canister.
I'm aiming to have some preliminary shots of my paint scheme up over the weekend, and will be starting my long overdue painting log next week.
Three papers and 3 finals in the next 7 days. Ugh. Ugh indeed.
