  1. [Hobby] The dead sleep no more...

    by , April 24th, 2010 at 19:17 (Karnaro - Dead Man Walking)
Not the most exciting update, but an update nonetheless.

I've assembled and primed 20 Zombies, mostly as a diversion while I wait for more bits to arrive. I've got tons of State Troop bodies, arms and shields en route, as well as various command bits, skeletal arms and skulls. The vast majority of my army will be blocks of Skeletons supported by Grave Guard, mainly winning through sheer weight of number than martial prowess. I've knocked out a few test models so far, it's going to ...

  2. [Hobby] Changing gears...

    Wow, my poor, neglected blog...

It's been one of those years, all my plans and intentions just seemed to have been led astray for one reason or another. Ah well, such is the way of the world...

After months of collecting dust, I finally sold off my 40k collection. I've totally lost my motivation to finish my Chaos Marines, and have really had no desire to start a new army from scratch. Most of my gaming group has moved away from table top games in the last few years ...

  3. [Hobby] All work and no play...

Wow, almost two months since my last update. Yikes.

Sadly, I've been totaly abosrbed with taking extra courses/volunteer work/trying to fit a 30 hour work week all into my summer. While I definitely see the benefits of doing a 4 year specialist degree in 3 years, it's definately a logstical nightmare. Oh well, at least it's over with and life can get back to a more suitable level of crazy busy.

I've decided to set a series of goals for myself to start trying to get my painting

  4. [Hobby] Primed and ready!

    by , June 16th, 2009 at 17:15 (Karnaro - Dead Man Walking)
Been a little while since my last update, life has been a little hectic the last few weeks. Decided I didn't really need a break this summer, and signed up for another 3 credits... all English, all 6 weeks long. Needless to say, time has been at a premium lately, but it'll all be worth it in the end.

That said, just a minor update for today, hopefully I'll be getting the ball rolling again soon. I've been priming miniatures over the last few weeks, and have the bulk of my 1000 point

  5. [Hobby] Disaster!

    by , May 8th, 2009 at 02:12 (Karnaro - Dead Man Walking)
Well, I knew something had to go wrong.

After cranking out my first squad, I broke out the varnish to finish them off. About midway through my spray, misfortune struck and suddenly my wonderful can of varnish decided to launch gobs of sticky goo all over my models. Damn damn damn!

To be fair, I probably should have snagged a new can of varnish rather than risk using the old one. Luckily the damage was relatively minimal, a total of 6 models
