Finally some Troops

Posted October 14th, 2009 at 15:20 by MunkyFunk (MunkyFunks 40k blog)
The last of my photo updates for now at least, My first complete squad of plague marines. Im running plague marines in squads of 7, one to keep point costs from being too insane, and two because its the favoured number of nurgle, though rules-wise in fifth edition that doesnt really mean anything. I spent a while trying to work out how to distinguish between squads while not differing from the scheme too much. Came up with a simple method, I painted one of the backpack vents on each marine yellow,...

Wasting points

Posted October 14th, 2009 at 14:45 by MunkyFunk (MunkyFunks 40k blog)
The title for this entry is pretty much what everyones going to tell me about it. I have completed a five man squad of bikers with two meltas, champion with powerfist and an icon of nurgle. That is a whole lot of points, and with the number of nurgle icons Im throwing around I can imagine this unit being hard to squeeze into a list.
As Ive mentioned before I havent actually played the game in nigh on twelve years, my thought though is that this is a durable high speed unit, that can take...

A bit of Leadership

Posted October 14th, 2009 at 14:29 by MunkyFunk (MunkyFunks 40k blog)
Next up in my update stream is my Nurgle Sorceror. Need a decent HQ to run my army, and a Daemon Prince doesnt seem right until I get the army to a decent size. Plus Ive always loved the Forgeworld Nurgle Sorceror model, so I got him, my first Forgeworld mini. If I do say so myself not a bad job on him either, my only concern is that the nurglings might be too bright, but then its always bugged me in pics of this mini that you couldnt distinguish the nurglings from the rest of the piece. Soo I guess...

Completely Re-Defiled

Posted October 14th, 2009 at 14:17 by MunkyFunk (MunkyFunks 40k blog)
Well its been a busy couple of months since I last posted, but once again Papa Nurgles children have not been forgotten. I have been waiting for some decent natural light by which to take some pictures, but I may have to wait till June next year for that. so I just used the flash on my cam phone and did the best I could. Up first is the re-done defiler

re-defiled

Posted August 18th, 2009 at 11:42 by MunkyFunk (MunkyFunks 40k blog)
Been a fair while since I scrawled anything in here. Lifes been busy lately, credits been crunchy etc. But my army has not been forgotten.
Firstly I have made the decision to go fully 100% nurgle. Partly due to a growing interest in the fluff and background of Ol' Papa Nurgle; and secondly because the results of my Nurgle colour scheme look so damned good (by my rank amateur standards) that they put my undivided marines to shame.
After the vindicator was complete I set about...
