  1. Arena of Death! (v 2.0) (Arena Piece)

    by , April 15th, 2009 at 16:35 (Daelrog's Wargaming Blog (v 2.0)!)
Right, for those of you who are new coming to my blog, I previously had a blog specifically designed to keep track of my Arena characters. I talked about their backstory, their matches, and then ranted when they lost (followed by some editing the day after.)

Now that the Summer is looming closer, I now feel it is a good time to come back to the blog that ganed so much popularity back in the day (well, half a year ago). Like beore, I will post up each of my Arena characters and provide ...

  2. Dark Eldar Revival. Entry 2.

With some progress made, the Kabal now has two more raiders and a new color scheme decided on. Along with a cardboard ravager well into construction.

Bit by bit now, my plan is to finish up the dark lance warriors and card ravager, convert one Raider into another ravager, and turn some more warriors into a min/max Splinter Cannon Scourge squad (I know they're not really good for much, but I like the look of them. And don't want to take three Ravagers, at
    least not yet.) ...

  3. [Gaming] My love for Combat Patrol

Yes, it's true. I'm absolutely in love with small scale 40k.

There tends to be a large bias amongst gamers that "bigger equals better" when it comes to armies. More points means more models, more models means more power. /timallen

What larger games tend to lose is a sense of scale. To me, 40k has always been about squad based combat, units of troops engaging in firefights and taking objectives. A large army tends to lose this feeling, where a smaller game

  4. [Hobby] The Rebuilding begins again... again...

    by , April 13th, 2009 at 17:20 (Karnaro - Dead Man Walking)
So, it's that time of the year again. As I rummage through boxes of old models, unfinished projects and conversions in progress, I get the itch to begin again... again.

I've become notorious for starting an army, painting roughly half my force, then shelving it due to time constraints. Nothing out of the ordinary, except in my case. The problem you ask? Once I set down my brushes and pack up my miniatures, my desire for whatever project I'm working on seems to die immediately. By

  5. Dark Eldar Revival. Entry 1.

    by , April 13th, 2009 at 03:54
About 7 years ago, I was initially introduced to miniature gaming upon seeing someone reading an old Sisters of Battle codex. After talking about it for a bit, it sounded interesting, and I started actually looking at the miniatures in my local hobby shop.

A few months down the line, I had another person convinced to start Warhammer 40,000 if I did. So off we went to Games Workshop, and purchased the 3rd Edition starter set. He took the bulky, ugly marines. And I snagged the more ...
