After having all of my Warhammer stuff locked down in a cluttered garage for months, I finally got to resume my work on the Kabal of the Heliotrope Mist earlier this week. Spent a few days tearing the garage apart, and got a permanent painting station set out there.

I decided on a slightly different 1K list over the time I couldn't work on it, so there was a fair bit of extra converting and restoring to do. No problem there, it's my favorite part of the hobby. Two nights of hacking, ...

With everything but the scourges all fixed up, I began painting the first unit. A raider squad, so I could get an idea of how it'll look all together. Upon completion of a few warriors and most of one raider, I finally realized something. I built all of the warriors and most of the rest of the army long before I ever really got into the converting and modeling aspect of the game. They're all very static looking.

With some progress made, the Kabal now has two more raiders and a new color scheme decided on. Along with a cardboard ravager well into construction.

Bit by bit now, my plan is to finish up the dark lance warriors and card ravager, convert one Raider into another ravager, and turn some more warriors into a min/max Splinter Cannon Scourge squad (I know they're not really good for much, but I like the look of them. And don't want to take three Ravagers, at
least not yet.) ...

About 7 years ago, I was initially introduced to miniature gaming upon seeing someone reading an old Sisters of Battle codex. After talking about it for a bit, it sounded interesting, and I started actually looking at the miniatures in my local hobby shop.
