The League of Death - From 500 to 2K

Our GG is going to begin a league that begins at 500pts. We will be playing 4 games at that level, 3 pts for massacre, 2 for win and 1 for draw (0 for loss). Anyway, after the 4 games the one at the top will be crowned champion of 500pts... and then anyone at a later date can challenge them for a grab at the title. Of course the defending champion will have to use the defending list. This will continue for 1K 1.5K and 2K point. Oh and the champion gets a trophy and many many bragging rights!

So, our GG is big on tough lists but we all take to the challenge, 9 oblits, dual lash... you name it, they are common. Cheese, beard... they are called many things. Here we just call them... lists, dirty lists . So I come to you with an idea, and I want to develop it into a list that will have a good deal of everything at 500pts so some thinking:

Heamonculi- Destructor, Siccor - 45pts

Raider Squad 5 with splintercannon
Raider - lance, horrorfex

Raider Squad 5 with darklance
Raider- lance

Ravager- 3 Dissies
Ravager- 3 Dissies

Total- 500pts

Now, should I take the second ravager? or should I go for another raider squad, and dracon with agonizer? At 500pts I have a feeling that shooting the snot out of my enemies will be quite a good tactic.

    well in my opinion i think..... that ive never even seen a dark eldar codex in front of me, but the league looks like a fun time.

    Hmm I have been re thinking the list... I am a fan of the spam... but I am getting sort of bored of it .

    Dracon, Agonizer Shadowfield Spistol, Plas Grens, Trophy, Hellmask

    Raider Squad 8 Strong, Blaster SC

    Raider

    Raider Squad 9 Strong, Blaster SC

    Raider Horrorfex

    Ravager 3 Dissintegrators.


    So this is a revision... more bodies less dakka... but the dracon alone can be a powerhouse.
    for 1000pts I think ill expand with a squad of wyches, some warp beasts, another ravager and anoter raider squad with maybe a hemonculi? or Dracite, hehe.

    Warp Beasts are cool but questionable in effectiveness. But it would be fun to see.
    A squad with a Haemon would be quite cool in time.
    Eventually adding another Ravager and some Incubi is also a must.

    Have you ever considered a semi-competitive list focussed on a bike Dracon/Archon, 2 full squads of bikes and the rest on raiders backed up by 2 Ravagers? Would be a cool sight, very speedy and fluffy.

    I have used the bikes in quite a few games. Used them at 2K... and sometimes at smaller games. I am converting some of the bikes. The thing I dont like is that they are too many points for what you get... the archon is awesome on a bike, and now that he can use the punisher the S bonus for the bike, combined with the str bonus for the punisher and maybe even the animus vitae makes him a very, very nasty unit. The only thing I do not like is that I loose the ability to make him charge out 12". Man, do I love 1st turn charges!

    Now, that was me using only one bike squad. 2 max squads (500pts) 2 ravagers (24 and 2 squads 5 in raiders (22 At 1K does not really leave me any points for the archon... and although the bikes are nice, in a small game they dont really have the mobility needed and 20 bikes on large bases would be hard to manouver on the table...

    But it is not something that I would not be willing to try.

    Well i myself am still pondering picking up the DE as a 2ndary army. (them or for Ravenwing)
    I'd buy the battleforce of the DE 2x, convert one bike to Archon and hence have 2 squads of bikes, 2 Raiders and a large contingent of Warriors. Which looks like a good starting force.
