This blog is set up to showcase my army and the things I do with it. I'll be showing pictures of my converting and painting, as well as posting Battle Reports and Tactics I use.

My army is an Imperial Guard force made from entirely Ork models. Every model will have at least minor conversions.

So check back here every so often. I'll have lots of pictures and write up some Tacticas once I get a few games under my belt.

First Vendetta and Playtesting Updates

Just got my first vendetta done. It looks pretty awesome in my opinion, I like it a lot. Here's some snaps, pre-prainted.

They weren't as hard to do as I'd feared but I had to jury rig a lot of it. The connectors are pvc pipe which I've cut into sections. I drilled a small hole in the sides with a power drill than took scissors and spun them in the hole, making it progressively bigger. The pipes fit VERY tightly into the hole and it's easy to take out for transport.

The Lascannons has a hole drilled in the side and a paperclip glued into the hole. I than filled the PVC pipe with a few inches of green stuff, pushed the pipe in and let it dry. Holds it as tight as can be. I used plasticard on the tops to make it look like extra armor and to cover up holes in the natural molding.

As far as testing, it's going to be a busy weekend. I have to write a Rogue Trader campaign for Friday which is eating into my modelling time but I should have 2 Vendettas done this week. I have games against Tyranids, Blood Angels or Sisters and Space Wolves. The SW list is pretty good so it'll be a great test. Here's his list.

Rune Priest w/ Living Lightning and JotWW

8 Wolfguard w/ Combi-Plasma and PF in Rhino
Dread w/ MM/HF in Pod
Dread w/ MM/HF in Pod

3 GH squads w/ PF and Plasma in Rhinos
3 GH squads w/ PF and Melta in Pods

The weakness I see is that my Vendettas are going to run wild, he can't stop them if I kill his Priest and even than, d6 S7 shots isn't THAT bad against AV12.

My plan is to hard castle in a corner and use my Platoons to keep all the armor alive, form a living wall against Meltas getting 2d6. If the Demolishers live, it's going to be very rough on him. He has about as many KPs as me but if we get DoW it's going to hurt me. I assume he'll drop the Dreads and a Melta unit against me, the Dreads have to die asap. I can shut down the Rhino wall with Autocannons and Reserves so if that initial drop bounces off my Demolishers, I basically win. I'm conflicted on going first because I get to snipe Rhinos but if my Vendettas all come in he has Melta units to drop on them, risky. Well, I'll figure it out.

Not to scared of 'Nids, the guy likes swarm and that's an easy win for my army. Blood Angels could be trouble, it's a lot of Assault Marines and I imagine the Corbule/Dante funfest. Wish me luck. More painting coming over the weekend I hope as well.
