    2000pt mix

    What do you all think?
I'm not sure if there is enough combat ready troops in the army but I just love to fling stones and arrows, hence the numbers of bowmen.

I don't really have any criticisms of this list...it looks like it would be fun to play. Lots of cheap heroes, plenty of knights, a whole ton of shooting...looks great.
Let us know if you have much success with it.

I ended up only playing 1K so I had to hack a bit off.

    Bretonnians
8 KE with Errantry banner and the BSB with sword of might
8 KotR warbanner and Paladin (general)
    15 bowmen
    15 skirmishing bowmen
    3 peg knights

The dwarven army I played against:
2 cannon with master engineers (rerolls on misfires are a PITA)
2 units of 12 hand gunners
    1 unit of dwarven warriors
1 unit of some stronger warriors with a thane (I think)

My ranked bowemen were on a hill and my skirmished bowmen were on flat ground.
My two knight units were set to roll straight up the middle and my peg knights were on the left edge.

He was set up with the cannon on two hills on either end of the board with hand gunners near/below each cannon.
The two dwarven warrior units stodd separate of each other but in the middle.
For the first two turns I basically shot at his handgunners with the bowmen with average results.
I probably took out two or three of the gunners each turn.
All the while the two knight units moved into charge range.
The peg knights flew up the left side to get into position to charge the first handgunner unit on the left.

His warriors stood still while his gunners and cannon did their work.
He thinned out my Kotr unit until there were only 5 models left (passed my panic test with the help of the BSB's reroll)
and 7 models left on the KE unit.
The shape of the lance formation really helps out against cannonballs bouncing.
By turn three I was in charge range for the PK, KotR and KE.
I had whittled away enough of the left side handgunner units with my bowmen that a frontal charge would work fine.
I was close enough that they couldn't stand and shoot.
I charged with PK and broke the handgunners, pursuing put me in b2b contact with the cannon... it was a perfect set-up.
Secondly during the turn, I charged the largest block of dwarven warriors, the unit with the thane with both knight units.
The wounds and the CR was enough that he needed a miracle not to break.... the dwarves lack of faith was distrubing.
They did not recieve their miracle and broke. I pursued and caught them.

My opponent just couldn't rcover from this, the game ended with a massacre.

Geez...you absolutely trounced him. That's the thing with shooty armies I guess, if you reach their lines with enough models, you're going to steamroll them.

^^ you might want to double check this though :-/

I'm interested to see how it'll hold up against other lists.
    Good luck!

Point of order : You are required to have one unit of knights of the realm.

The second army list you played against the dwarves looks very effective and I may have to "borrow" that, but your first list needs KoTR

"Paladin with Virute of Duty - 110
With 8 KotR (FC) and the War Banner - 241

    Paladin - 80
    With 5 KotR (Musc only) - 128"

In both army lists, he had KoTR. I too like the list and may give it a go.

Yeah I missed that. Didn't see the units linked with the characters.

Yeah, the dwarven player has since moved on to High Elves. We haven't had a chance to try a rematch but when we do, my new list looks like:

    Lord @ 220 pts (General)
Cuirass of Fortune - Mantle of Damsel Elena - Virtue of Knightly Temper

11 Knights of the Realm @ 313 pts
    with FC and Twilight Banner

    Prophetess @ 265 pts
    Level 4 Upgrade
    The Silver Mirror
    Lore of Life

Damsel of the Lady @ 95 pts
    Dispel Scroll
    Lore of Beasts

Paladin (Battle Standard Bearer) @ 95 pts
Ruby Ring of Ruin - Virtue of Empathy

    Men-at-Arms (30#, 177 pts)
    FC and Spears

    Men-at-Arms (25#, 152 pts)
    FC and Halberds

    Peasant Bowmen (16#, 106 pts)
    Braziers; Defensive Stakes

    Peasant Bowmen (16#, 106 pts)
    Braziers; Defensive Stakes

    Peasant Bowmen (16#, 106 pts)
    Braziers; Defensive Stakes

    Mounted Yeomen (10#, 181 pts)
    FC and Bow, Spear, Shield

    Field Trebuchet @ 90 pts

    Field Trebuchet @ 90 pts

Basically, the spearmen and halberds will tarpit while the KotR provides flanking support. The BSB will be within 12" of both men at arms units and the damsel will stay close for buffing wyssan's wildform. The prophetess will pull out magic anywhere and everywhere she can. The many units of bowmen and treb's are to thin the enemy ranks out and the mounted yeomen will play clean-up / warmachine hunters.

What do you think? It's a little different as I don't have too many knights.
