So I've been out of the game for a while and kinda pulled my brother into it by conning him into some O&G models, and now he's posting lists so I figure in the desire to be Virtuous.
Here are the two lists I had already sitting around.
All Knights - 1k
Paladin Realm Knights 7 Bretonnian Warhorse Free Cavalier Virtue of Disipline Standard Bearer Shield Musician Obsidian Trinket Banner of Swiftness Potion of Foolhardiness Paladin Realm Knights 8 Bretonnian Warhorse Free Cavalier Virtue of Duty Standard Bearer BSB Musician Banner of Chalons Twighlight Banner Knights Errant 7 Free Cavalier Standard Bearer Musician Errantry Banner

How many men are in each unit? Easier to comment that way!
Other than that. All cav Bret's don't work all too well unless you invest in some harder hitting stuff like questing knights. A damsel is a must otherwise you will get destroyed in the magic phase. A single okkams or a mystifying miasma will hurt your army bad.
I'm leaning towards the second list but you might want to change those bowmen to a unit of maa 5 wide and as many ranks as you can get. The combat res will be needed to support your knights. If you take maa lore of life is good for regening models to hold a unit and get your knights into a flank. If you don't take maa go for beasts. If your damsel is mounted beasts might be a better choice anyway.
that would be helpful wouldn't it... edited

Yeah, as has been said - all knights brets don't hold out very well. At 1k, your best bet would probably be to skimp on characters - it's tough, because you must include a BSB and general. I'd go for a Damsal as your General, keep her protected with some magic gear and go for Lore of Life, tuck her in the middle of a unit.
My typical build is to field all of my minimum core as M@A, except for the one minimum unit of KotR. At this size, 8 should do fine, plus a character, for 3 ranks of 3. It's a bit hefty, but it works.
From there, it's all about Grails and Questings. Grail Knights are an awesome hammer unit, but they suffer for losing their lances after the charge. Their armor is sweet, their 2A are sweet, truly, they can rack up some kills on the way in, but then they get stuck. At this points level, you don't really have enough to spare for them anyways.
Questing Knights are great though. In 8th, you are practically guaranteed to be taking hits back, and you strike at Initiative anyways. If you've got Ini3 and access to GWs, you may as well go that route. Especially over lances, and even on cavalry thanks to our nerf'd charge distance. Small units of these guys, as small as possible, or 6 of them in 2 ranks, will be your go-to flankers and combat busters. Getting them into the flanks is pretty important, since the best Knights in the world are apparently behind Chaos and Empire in their development of Full Plate 4+ saves. Go figure. I expect to see them in the next edition of the book, whenever that's due.
If I had to choose between the two lists proposed, I would side with Commisar and go for the second list, with the suggested swap to M@As instead of bowmen.
Thanks for the suggestions Commisar and Cap'n. I plan on doing a retool soon and apparently need to draft a 500 pts to throw around. Is there a current ed. version of Warbands out there that I could use or is the original PDF still up to snuff?
