    2250 Brets All Cav

Well, after a long long thought process of what army of fantasy to finally start, and seeing as I get bored with painting amazingly fast on normal troopers, I chose the good ole' brets for a little custimization. This is my list, and I hope it will hurt the enemy as much as it will hurt my wallet.

    Paladin 181
    Banner of the Lady
    Steed

    Lord 259
    Steed
    Grail Vow
    Silver Lance
    Grail Shield

    9 Realm Knights 240
    Mus+Stand

    9 Realm Knights 240
    Mus+Stand

    9 Realm Knights 240
    Mus+Stand
(Anyone see a trend here? Maybe, all cav?)

    9 Questing Knights 279
    Mus+Stand

    9 Questing Knights 279
    Mus+Stand

    3Pegasus Knights 165

    8 Grail Knights 361
    Mus+Stand
    Twilight Banner

    What do you guys think?

    Total- 2244, 6 points for... ??

    C&C Welcomed and wanted.

I think I wouldn't want to play against the list, that's what I think.

    Thats a nice list, though I must admit the all cavalry force isnt that specialist when it comes to bretonnians really is it {confused}

You have loads of units and I wouldnt want to face this list either. Good job

I don't play brets personally, but the only thing I would say is magical defence? I play dwarves meself and coming up against that army would not be the ideal of my dreams, plenty to shoot at, but all to much of it!

The reason I spend NOTHING on magic defense is you may only have 1 round of magic before I am in combat. Also, thanks Also, who needs specialist lists when all I am here for is to win tourny's? Sure, I love just playing normal games and I am fine if I loose, but when it boils down to it, this is a tourny list. And tourny lists are supposed to win.

Ooooh, I see the trend. The list might be dinged for comp, but there is certainly little room for error. But if you are in a tourny cross your fingers and hope you do not play Tomb Kings or VC. My only suggestion would be getting two 5 knight errant units as a sacrificial unit to flee and setup charges. Drop a unit of Realms for it, there is no unit that you can willingly lose without hurting you so they would be good for fleeing and possibly screening your knights from catapults and bolt throwers. Where do the characters go?

Well first off, I'd lke to say that this is a pretty scary list; good job writing it. I do have one beef with it about the lack of magic defense. I know that you have discounted it because you plan to be in combat on the second turn, so it is a minimal risk in your mind. If you were playing less than 2000 points I would agree with you, but I think that you should really reconsider in this case. I will give you a somewhat extreme case, but you have to remember that if you are planning on mainly tournament play, you will pretty much only face extreme cases.

So, consider you face a magic/missile focused tomb kings army with a casket of souls and a screaming skull catapult amongst it's ranks. If the tomb kings get the first turn, you likely face two catapult hits due to magic that are ideal for hurting your army and a casket blast, (which I dont know how many times I've seen completely devastate an entire army in one shot), amongst any other magically repeated missile fire they might have. This will repeat in the second turn. After that the tomb kings will likely be able to charge you on the flank with their magic, potentially causing a lot more damage. You will be almost guaranteed to get some charges after all that, but your units will be weakened and some will likely be running from the catapult shots.

Again, this is a bit of an extreme example, but it shows how magic can really hurt if left unchecked. Any magic heavy VC army will be able to mess with your plans by throwing up walls of zombies unnoposed while killing your heroes with hand of dust, and a high elf army will just have a field day. If you were to include something simple, like a super cheap damsel scroll caddy you would have just that little bit that you need to keep your cavalry safe until they get into combat. Now im not a brettonian player, but i have read that there is debate as to whether questing knights are really worth it because of the seventh edition rule change. If you were to drop one of your questing units, you could get a cheap caddy and either spend the extra points upgrading your current units or getting a paladin to jack up the strength of one of your knights of the realm. I think that this would help round out your army nicely and help you take on all comers.

Aye, but heres my counter arguement.....what VC or TK players? The only TK player couldnt win to save his life, and no one plays VC halfway decently. Also, I had a unit of errant, but talking to my collegue, he said to just pay the couple more points for the better knights, and I agree with him.

Are you serious, you don't have good undead players there. Well, if you do go to a GT you will see plenty and they will all be experienced. Another army that should make you cry is a Slaanesh DL, they're faster (10M) so they will charge, you fear them, and no lancing for you. Even if the undead players are terrible, your units should get stuck after the charge and then be run down due to fear, any player should be able to do that, and he should play refused flanks against your list. Still think about the errants, a failed panic check could ruin your hopes and errants could stop that.

Aye, I know it's sad.. infact the ONLY player around here made his 'army' for conversion (Zombie Pirates...looks damn cool) but he never plays it, infact I do beleive he only got his black coach (lifeboat, and another being pulled by a whale) and one box of zombies... I have one comment to Slaanesh...I ain't skurred!

    I'm back.
